Our plane does not get in until 9:45 PM. I know some people have posted about suprises they have sent to their room (chocolate mickey and strawberries or a basket) What ideas do you have and how can I arrange it. I want to give the kids a little bit of Disney Magic the first day.
TIA

They do not consider themselves too old for anything Disney.

Keep in mind that until you are checked in that your room could be assigned to someone else.

I would suggest doing it your first full day at WDW.

Please PM Feralpeg on the boards. She did/does make great gift baskets at reasonable prices. Hopefully she can help you out!

I am thinking about doing this too. We are staying off site to save money--so rather than risk a pre-arrival delivery--I am just going to bring a little box or basket with us and slip in in the room while the kids are at the pool.

My kids are 7 and almost 10. I have guest of honor badges for both of them, will get autograph book and pen for both, maybe a little handheld fan for both....but would love to hear other suggestions.

I have not told my kids about the ps's I was able to get. I actually told them the park would be too crowded and we would just have to see the characters around the park. I am going to include a letter from Mickey saying he heard we had a hard time with ps's and he wants them to wear the guest of honor badges and he will see what he can do. Then each morning that we have a ps, I am going to bring a little note of invitation and make it look like Mickey slid it under the door while they are sleeping. My kids love surprises---I cannot wait!

I have also ordered baskets from Feralpeg (you can PM her here on the boards). In Dec she did two wonderful candy baskets for my little neph (one for USF and one for WDW) - each with a mini plush and some other special items I had requested. Last month she delivered an adorable guitar themed candy basket to the Hard Rock for my DS b'day. Her work is beautiful - here's a recent post with some pics and info if you are interested - we were rewarded with big smiles for our efforts (the kids loved her candy selections, too!) :smooth:

For 20 bucks, I'll hide in your room and jump out and scare everyone to death. That should start the trip off nicely. I'll even assume the Karate Kid pose.

Live for the Magic: What great ideas!!! Will you be my mom??

I plan to pack a few surprises for the kids (2 & 5) to open on the plane ride down, Something new to occupy their time. Then a secret or two for the room. So far I have new "light" things for the evening shows, secret Disney marker books (the page looks blank in spots til you use the special pen and reveal the hidden pics) and a lanyard each w/ some trading pins I've picked up inexpensively through ebay.

I too haven't told them about PS's I was able to make (I scored CRT!) and I love your idea about the note from Mickey.

We had a friend send a postcard to ds before our last trip (from Buzz) saying he was looking forward to seeing him. That was HUGE! My sil will be down the month before us so I'm going to have her send Postcards to ds and dd.

Look forward to seeing other ideas.
