Late arrival parade spot

I was just wondering if anyone had ideas re: where to go to see Spectro when we're getting to MK late? We're going in Oct and will be doing Chef Mickey's the Friday we get there (at 5:30). Will we have time to get to MK and have any chance at getting a spot for the parade? Have 2 DDs age 3 and 5 and would prefer to see the parade and fireworks Friday vs. Saturday because they are a little earlier. I know how early we staked our spot last Oct for the MSEP, so I kind of think there is no way we'd get a spot late and still be able to see the parade! Any good tips? Thanks in advance!

By the Liberty Bell outside of Liberty Tree Tavern. They rope off that area, you have to stand back from the street a bit, but no one will be in front of you obstructing your view. We got there about 30 min. before it started, we were right at the front of the rope. The CM's will kneel in front of you down that brick walkway to the street.

Kallison is right. Here's another tip. Walk across from the Diamond Horshoe Review, and look on the ground for the little circular brass disks, once you find one, spread out a poncho, backpack, etc., and sit right behind one of the disks. The disks are what the CM's remove and stick the poles in to rope off the streets for the parades. You'll get an obstruction-free viewing of the parade. We love that location. One Warning Note, be prepared for a big crowd as you try to exit, as this location is back in the park a ways. Good Luck

Kallison and Snowboarder - thanks for the GREAT tips!! The only thing that would stop me from trying these ideas the night we get there is if the girls are conked out from travelling - I know how long it will take to get out of there after the parade! But if we don't try it that night, we'll try it Saturday night. Oh - do these tips apply for the afternoon parades as well? That would be great if they did - thanks again so much!!
