Late arrival first day - is there time for a late ADR?

DH and I arrive at MCO at 6:22pm with carry on luggage only. We will then take the Magical Express to POP. Do you think we have time to book a late ADR somewhere? We will have APs, so we're open to anywhere at WDW. What places might be closer or easier to get to with WDW transportation? If we don't do an ADR, I'm thinking drinks/apps/desserts at Tambu Lounge because Lapu Lapu and bread pudding!!

I wouldn't. If your flight is late, or if ME takes a full 90-120 minutes, you'll be at POP around 8:30 to check in, then have to get somewhere.

Disney transport from Pop will only go to Disney Springs, or to parks. I doubt you'd be anywhere to try to eat before 10PM. And that's if everything goes right.

Go somewhere that doesn't take an ADR.

I agree with aurora, I would not
You are scheduled to arrive at MCO at 6:20. Travel day is rife with unexpected, uncontrollable delays.
Even if you are on time, the average time to WDW from MCO on ME is 70 - 90 minutes. At that time of day you may wait a bit longer for the bus to load before leaving.
It is just way too tight and way too stressful for me.
Plus if you have an ADR and you are delayed you will pay the $10/person no show fee.

I would wait until you are at your resort or about to arrive at your resort and then look to see what ADRS are available for about 1 hour later. You can always grab a cab to get to the park/resort if a bus is not available once you put your things in your room.

I agree with the others. Wait until you get there and see what's available. IMHO, Tambu Lounge sounds like a GREAT plan! Consider taking a cab or uber to any resort you may choose to visit that evening. Uber is not expensive and will cut down on your travel time.

Tambu is definitely a favorite for us! I also need to try Trader Sams's! I think this is likely what we will end up doing, so we don't have to be tied to an ADR.

Think about Restaurants with adjacent lounges or bars that you can eat at...like at TRex or Raglan Road....That way, you can definitely get fed, even if there are no tables available.

I would also do a lounge if we were coming in late. You may not be hungry for a full meal anyway.

I would say an easy place to get to via Disney transportation might be the monorail resorts, or WL or FW. You could take bus from Pop to MK, then hop on the monorail or a boat.

But I agree with others, Magical Express could take a long time, putting your ADR in jeopardy. If you wanted to have a good sit-down meal and not just apps, maybe it would be quicker to just take a cab from the airport.

Good luck!
