Late arrival at Saratoga- vending machines?

Staying for the first time at Saratoga Springs this June before our cruise. Our flight does not get in until after 11:00 p.m., so I figure with Magical Express, we are at the resort after midnight (and I know it makes more sense to stay near the airport and not waste points on the lost day, but we want to wake up and already be at Disney, all checked-in, not waiting until 4:00 the next day).

I am a terribly nervous flyer, and won't have been able to eat anything all day, not until an hour after the plane lands, at which time I will be starving. Is there a vending machine that I would at least be able to buy something to drink? Or does Saratoga Springs have anything open at the quick service that I would be able to buy something?

We are only staying late Wednesday to Saturday, so not really sure if ordering something to be delivered from a grocery store is a better option, when all I really need is some milk and good water, though a sandwich would be great, too. I can bring breakfast bars, but they don't go well with Floridian water!

What do other late arrivals do?

THere are cold drink machines on the ground floor of SSR's various buildings...I'm not remembering any in the check-in building...

I'm also not remembering seeing any candy/snack machines anywhere (we've been to SSR a LOT, but never had the urge to find a vending machine)...

Another option: Downtown Disney...it's super close to SSR...you may be too tired to walk over, or to wait for a bus...but if you aren't, there are food places open til quite late over there, especially in the Pleasure Island/West Side area (not sure of closing times at the Marketplace)...

Still, to be safe, I'd bring some snacks w/you...I'm sure you can get a cold drink out of a vending machine and I would guess that would include water (altho I'm not 100% certain of the choices), but just not thinking of food options at SSR after 10 p.m.

Good luck!

By the time you get to your Room (about 1am if I am reading correctly)I think a lot of places will be closed. However there may be some stuff open at the airport, If anything is open at the Airport grab something quick there befor going to ME.

What i would seriously consider doing in that situation is getting a One way car rental and grab food on the way and send the rest of your group on ME. I would only do that because I have a really good corporate code and the car would not cost me much, and I know I can return it at one of the DTD hotels.

What would g=happen if you put a food pre-order in with SSR? would it be there when you check in or arrive shortly thereafter? I ahve never done that so i do not know how it works.

There are a ton of restaurants in mco. I second picking something up there and and taking it with you.

You won't find anything open at SSR at that hour. I'm also not sure what you'll find open at MCO. I'd recommend packing something in your carry-on bags that you can snack on in the room.

Thanks for the replies.

Unfortunately, upon further Googling, I don't believe anything will be open at the airport when we arrive. I was hoping maybe one of those 7/11 type stores with the refrigerated pop and milk that are in the airport, but I am not finding anything on MCO's website regarding the hours for those. However, it is possible a Starbucks is open 24 hours at the airport, so I need to look into that, if for nothing else but a cup of milk to take to the hotel.

Grabbing a rental is not an option, since I am traveling with a minor that I won't leave alone on the bus. I am not comfortable driving that late at night, when tired, in an area I am not familiar with. Plus, free Disney transport to Saratoga is a winner!

Downtown Disney will be closed by the time we arrive at the resort. That would be a great idea though if we were arriving just an hour earlier!

Maybe I will just put in a food/drink order. Would Member Services be the ones to call and see if the order will be held until we arrive? Or do I call the resort on this?

Thanks again for all the suggestions! Anything to help avoid drinking the Florida water late at night is appreciated!

You can get a preprinted order form online for grocery delivery to your resort. fill it out and tell them what day and time to deliver. Bell services will hold for you and keep items in cold storage. you should then collect items at check in.
