If my flight arrives at 10:40 am, I anticipate hotel arrival at 12ish. planning to go to Epcot after a snack. Would I be able to forgo a park reservation and plan to "hop" into Epcot after 2? I currently have Epcot reserved but it would be easier to book Genie+ rides for the evening hours if the genie app thought I was hopping..... thoughts?

If you reserve a different park, you would have to travel to and tap into that park, then travel to Epcot. So it wouldn’t benefit you at all. It will make more sense for you to keep your Epcot reservation and just check Genie+ as often as possible while in transit until the times for the Genie+ LL you want are later in the day.

yep you have to have a park reservation somewhere and you must tap into the reserved park in order to hop. If you want to go to Epcot you will need to keep the park reservation. Also to each their own, but I am not sure you would need to have Genie + when entering the park that late, especially at Epcot.

I don't think I caught that tidbit. Do they hold back Genie+ capacity to release for hoppers?

No they do not as as far as I can tell. But if you are hoping and you attempt to make a G+ in another park (not the one you are reserved for or are currently in) you will be presented with G+ times that are after 2pm

Well, you could switch your reservation to anywhere else. Make G+ reservations that morning for that afternoon at Epcot. The earliest times offered will be 2pm. You could then switch your reservation back to Epcot when it was convenient for you. Worst case, the reservations are gone and you'd have to actually tap into the other park.

Got it. Thanks.

And I haven't looked, but I bet Epcot doesn't sell out very often.

You can do what others have suggested and try switching your reservation to a different park so you only see after 2pm times for Epcot and then try to switch it back to Epcot before you leave for the park. Epcot is highly unlikely to sell of our reservations.

TBH, I don't think Epcot is a park where Genie + is worth it if that your only park for the day, especially if you'll only be there in the afternoon. By maybe 3 or 4 you're looking at walk-ons for Figment, Spaceship Earth, Nemo, and Living with the Land. Soarin' and Mission Space will likely be under 30 minutes. Test Track can be a bit of an outlier, but later in the day usually sees waits around 35ish or less (and that can be cut way down if you're able/willing to split up your party to do single rider). Frozen gets the worst wait, but it's not included with Genie+ anyway.
