Late April to Mid May

What's been your experience on weather, crowds, and so on, if you've visited WDW during late April to mid May?

Avid the week before and the week after Easter--lots of Spring breaks. Other than that I enjoy that time of year.

We went from April 27 - May 7 this year. We had a couple days that were really hot, a couple days with a little bit of rain, one evening with a massive downpour(started right when Wishes began and continued the whole time we were exiting, waiting for the buses, then walking from the bus stop to our room at POR), and a couple of relatively cool and really nice days. We planned the trip for this time of year to be between the easter/spring break crowds and the summer crowds. Then we found out about the Happiest Celebration kick-off and got worried about crowds. Crowds weren't bad most of the time. The only day that seemed crowded was Friday, May 6th at Epcot. And that was to be expected with Soarin officially opening on May 5th. Overall, I thought it was a very nice time to go. But then again, it was our first trip, so I can't compare it to other times of year.

It was the first trip for 4 1/2 yr old DS. We had such a wonderful time. The weather could be cool in the mornings but not too hot in the afternoons. One night everyone was wearing sweatshirts and jeans. Also one heavy rain at night during the week. We had no problems with crowds. There were spring breakers from the Eastern states but it was far enough from the Easter crowds. We would love to have a small weekend trip in April 2006 but don't know how that would work with Easter in April 2006. They do have grad night the last two weekends in April(only at MK and closes early). It didn't effect our trip.
