Last week of March? School break or holidays?

I've never been to WDW the last week of March but it's the only week my sister can go for an adult trip to celebrate my 39th birthday sequel.

How is this week, crowd wise? Lots of kids on break and/or National holidays? I know it's school break where I'm from (hence why my sister's available) but we live a loooooong way away from the House of Mouse.

Thanks!

Edit to add: This will be 2019. I haven't looked at the calendar yet - I'm crossing my fingers and eyeballs that Easter is not near that week somehow. Ha! March 22-31, 2019.

Easter is 4/1 next year, plus add Spring Break. That is one of the absolute most crowded weeks you could pick.

For 2018? I'd expect it to be quite busy, since that's the week before Easter and a lot of schools will be off or have a short week going into the holiday weekend.

That week will be super crowded because there will be overlap of Spring Break, Easter breaks starting and I think Passover overlaps with Easter this year as well. On the bright side, the weather will probably be very nice.

I don't know about everyone else, but for the last two years we have gone in March during Spring break. We have always loved this time of year for Disney! The weather is great and it has tended to have been less crowded than other times we have gone, at least for us. It's much more crowded on holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas, as well as in the summer time.

Our kids always have the last week of March for Spring Break. When Easter is late, this is week is very busy but manageable. From the poll I saw last year, this week is the most popular for Spring Break. Combine that with schools that match their break to Easter and it is a bad combination. We went once when it was Easter week and never again.

With crowds being even worse now than a few years ago, you need to be prepared for it being as busy as Thanksgiving and Christmas. We are going the first week of March next year. The kids have a couple days off and we are taking them out a few days just to avoid the Spring Break/Easter Crowds.

I would still go. Just be prepared for insane crowds.

I would make some dining reservations now if you think you might go that week.

I think everyone missed the 2019 part. Easter isnt until April 21

Agree. We went in march. Weather was beautiful and crowds weren't any worse than what I just experienced 2 weeks ago.

One of the busiest 3 weeks you could go the entire year.

No, she edited to add that after a bunch of us replied.

2019 should definitely be better for March trips, with Easter falling so late. End of March will fall nicely between Mardi Gras and Easter, with only some colleges (not as big a factor for Disney as k-12 schedules) and maybe small pockets of the country that separate spring break from Easter when it falls so late off that week. Our public school break when Easter falls that late is the first week of April.

I went the last week of March (26-30) of 2017.

Easter this year was three weeks later, so I found the crowds not bad as it was sandwiched between a traditional college Spring Break (mid-march) and the Easter Break (before Easter).

We went to DHS, MK and Epcot and I found DHS the most crowded (it was a EMH day), but when we hopped over to MK (on a Sunday) and went to Epcot the next day (on a Monday), I didn't find them crowded at all, but my family consisted of a 5mo and 4yo, so we were slow moving and weren't doing the big rides and utilized EMH and Fast Passes to minimize waits.
The longest wait was Test Track and 40+ minutes but that was because the ride was closed at Rope Drop and didn't open for maybe 2 hours after, so it was pretty packed when we got in line right when it reopened.

We all went to LEGOLAND on Tuesday and we practically had the park to ourselves with maybe a few hundred other people. It was actually a highlight of the trip for the kids because they were able to walk on any ride and just hop off and hop back on most rides.

The other families I went with went to MK and AK later that week as well and there were no complaints of crowds.

It is still one of the more popular times to go as different people have spring breaks at different times (the group I was with have year-round school so it was their spring break . .that is why we were going).

If you want/need to go in the Spring, I would recommend going at that time IF it isn't the week before or after Easter. It was probably the nicest weather I've ever had at WDW.

We are going this year during our spring break/Easter March 31 - April 4. It will be our first trip at this time as we've always gone as soon as school gets out for summer which is Memorial Day weekend and that week following. I'm expecting high crowds but it's pretty crowded end of May/June when we've visited before. I've made our dining reservations and know that with my son who'll turn 4 before we go, plans will have to be flexible. He actually was very good our 10 day trip this summer and loved meeting the characters and riding the rides he could. Not as many melt-downs as I expected. He's not one for scary rides so even though I believe he's tall enough for SDMT this time, I don't think I'll chance it yet with him. Sorry, off-topic.

I will report back how bad the crowds are this Easter but since Easter falls a few weeks later for you 2019, it should be more manageable.

We went the last full week of March this year because that was school break week for our schools. We had a great time. The weather could not have been better. I don't remember it being super crowded. We avoided crowded parks and times as best we could and the fastpasses worked out perfectly. :) I even got annual passholder discounts for both our room and my sister's room which saved us a bunch of money. The only downside was that the airfare was super expensive since so many schools in our area have spring break the last full week of March.

Let me tell you a little story: My family chose to go to Disney from 9/16-9/27 mainly because we figured the crowds would be fairly light given school being back in (kids are homeschooled). Then a little lady named IRMA came along and pushed crowds right smack dab into our week. It was slammed like Spring Break.

It really doesn't matter when you go, it can be VERY busy. Expectations are a risky business because you just might be disappointed. If you prepare yourself for large crowds, you'll be a-ok. We didn't prepare for that because we didn't think it'd be a problem. It was.
