Last Week in Sept vs Week before Thanksgiving

We have travelled to Disney the week of Labor Day (begining of Sept) and the last week of February. I'm trying to plan a trip for 2015 (yes, I realize this is a long way away, but it's with lots of extended family so I need to get my dates in line with them). I want LOW CROWDS but my husband doesn't want to boil throughout the trip (we all know September can be super hot). However (on the flip side), when we went in Feb last year we had some days where we were in shorts and others in jeans and sweatshirts - I'd like not to repeat that because it's a pain to have to pack for both warm and cold weather. A Free Dining promo would decide for us, but generally, isn't FD offered for both these weeks in the past?
With that in mind, we have two weeks we are considering
Last week in September (19-26) or the week before Thanksgiving, November (14-21).

Suggestions? Pros or Cons for each? Just looking for some great advice from fellow DISers. If you recommend a different week that would meet those criteria, I am open for any and all suggestions!

I would go with the week before Thanksgiving. September can still be pretty hot and muggy.:crazy2:
I watch this app I have on my phone that gives wait times everyday and the lowest I have seen them this whole past year was the week before Thanksgiving!!:goodvibes So much so that two of my coworkers are thinking of booking during that time next year.
Plus you have the parks decorated for the Holidays and the Castle has all of its fabulous lights!! Weather is still nice and not as hot!!

That is my opinion...Good luck whatever you decide....:thumbsup2

We are planning for early November for Food and Wine Festival!! Love the Fall at Disney!!!

I would pick November due to better weather (no humidity and rain), low crowds, and NO LOVEBUGS!!! DH and I were at WDW the last weekend in September a couple of years ago, and lovebugs were everywhere. I know some people are not bothered by them; I am not one of those people. My vote is November.

We were there the week before Thanksgiving last year. It was empty! Most of the buses were barely filled with almost no one standing. Lines were short, didn't even bother using our FP+. However, once you hit Saturday before Thanksgiving, it's a complete turnaround.

Whether is also hit and miss. We had a few nice warm pool days and a few cold light jacket days.

I'm so happy that I'm getting a lot of November votes. I really thought that November would be a lot busier than Sept - but I think hubby will be happier with the weather in November. I'm overwhelmingly happy that the crowds are not that bad for November (historically). We would arrive on a Saturday and leave the Saturday before Thanksgiving (at least that would be the plan).

Now I'm crossing my fingers and hoping for Free Dining promotion for that time!

When it comes to crowds I think both are about the same! Sept. Pros: last week of September you could go to MNSSHP (that could be a con if it doesn't interest you bc of MK closing early on party nights) It's still summer weather, so you could still do plenty of pool and water fun. You'd only need to pack for summer weather. Sept.Cons: may still be too hot for your husbands liking! (Although I don't think it is... But I'm a born and raised Floridian... And I am married to a man that hates the heat so I understand this dilemma) Still hurricane season, although it is towards the end of it!

Nov. Pros: you could attend MVMCP! Most likely you could still swim during the heat of the day... Unless there was a cold front...it could happen! Hurricane season is over!
Cons: you might still want to pack a few things for cool evenings... Though I doubt it will be cold cold, there might be some cool evenings! (This may also be a pro for you)

If it was me, I'd pick September, just bc I love MNSSHP, I love being able to swim, even in the evening! However, I might think about that November trip in 2015 for MVMCP... Now you got me thinking....

Frozengurl - I agree with you - I actually LOVE September weather - but hubby can't handle the heat so that is really the only reason I'm leaning towards November. Although I would love to go to MNSSHP, but MVMCP sounds like a good alternative.

Another vote for the November date. Even if it ends up being a little more crowded, I'd still take that over the heat.

I was there this year the exact dates in November and it was beautiful the weather was nice during the day and a little chilly at night. I have been there in September and it was more crowded then November.

We have went all times of year, and my family thinks September is by far the best time. Weather isn't too hot middle to end of September.

But hot enough to get some color :)

Plus the parks are generally empty, and we never wait more then 20 mins for any ride!

But maybe I should tell you November so that September has less people haha!

Agreeing with others. Go the week before Thanksgiving as it's one of the quieter times to go and weather is not as humid. September tends to traditionally be busy as Disney offers free dining at this time of year. Pop Century for sure--it's a favorite for us!
