Which is a better time to go? The week before labor day weekend or a few weeks into Sept? Heat is not a problem, but larger crowds are! Also, trying to decide between OKW and VWL. We love VWL, but the pts are a bit more (we'd need a 2 br). Never been to OKW, but have read great things. We like VWL because of its relaxing atmosphere. OKW seems to be similar (with a different theme), but also much larger. Any input?

The September dates will be less crowded in the parks.

Can't help with resort selection - have no personal experience staying at either, but no matter which you choose, I'm sure you'll be pleased.

Best wishes -

3 Weeks in IMHO. We went 3 years ago on Labor day weekend and while Disney was still hurting from 9-11, it was pretty crowded. It clears out right after Labor day. 3 weeks in the heat is much less and crowds are minimal. Great time to visit.

We stayed in a Studio at OKW the last week of Aug 05. We loved OKW but it is bus service everywhere except to Downtown Disney (boat). Service times were fine but we had a stroller that we had to fold every time.

IMO crowds were very low. We were one of only two couples at Whispering Canyon for late lunch one day. We ran back and forth between BTMRR and Splash Mountain on two separate days. We did Space mountain with no wait at all. Soaring was the only thing with a longer than 20 minute wait and it had been down for awhile the morning we were at Epcot so that might have made a difference. At MGM Rockin RC and TT had about a 15 minute wait.

Only exception for crowds was TL and BB. Water parks get full early in Aug. I expect that won't change that much in Sept....

Have a great trip whichever you decide.

Definately the 3rd week of Sept! Also - we really enjoyed our 1 bdrm at OKW - so much room, very relaxed - laid back atmosphere. Can't wait to get back!

We also stayed at the end of August the last 2 years and will continue to do so. It was very warm but the longest wait time we had for any ride was 20 minutes and that was only one time duing our entire 10 day trip.
