Anyone know if there were package discounts last year at this time?

We're already booked, but I'd love to see a discount (or free dining!!) come out that we could apply!

Other than the standard packages that disney always advertises, I have never seen anything during this timeframe. This will be my 13th late April/early May trip in a row. Disney seldom has to make any offers during this time because attendance is good. This is a popular time to go for us empty nesters and with flower and garden at EPCOT and the wonderful weather, no real need for incentives. This is also a popular time to go for the schools, lots of school groups there too, especially around grad nights. There should be the standard AP discounts along with a pincode discount and possibility a general discount on rooms, but I doubt we see free dining, especially during regular season. Keep in mind that peak season runs until April 22nd with regular season beginning on April 23rd. Plus the grand openning of Mt. Everest will bring in attendance up a little too. I already have my rooms booked--joined DVC this year and am booked at BWV for 14 days!! But I will be needing a room our first night(s) and will hopefully book that on the BRP when (if) those dates are released.

Is that true for the second week of May also? It might be worth joining AAA if there have traditionally been no discounts. Thanks!

i seem to remember seeing some kind of "incentive" for this time period. i guess, if you've booked (like we have) you we're going anyway regardless of a discount. i would be THRILLED with one, however we all know murphy's law! so i just try not to think about it, so i'm never disapointed!

As I said, there will be some discounts, but doubt seriously that Disney will have to entice us with a wonderful incentive like free dining, esp. during regular season. They seem to save the really good enticements for value/hurricane season--september. That is when the free dining was in full bloom and also in the past was the time they offered 7 for 4 deal. Discounts are much less than years past, I guess because attendance is on a rise. I think if you set your sites on rack rate, any discount will be a pleasant surprise. I'm not expecting too much for my one or two night stay (April 21-22), and because it's peak season, may even consider staying offsite for the first night or two before moving to the BWV on the 23rd.

I've gone in May the last two years. Last year there were no discounts for early May, but in May 2004, I did get a room-only discount in the third week of May. I believe I paid like $55/nite for Pop in 2004, but rack rate of $110 for the one nite in early May 2005. Hoping to get a discount for my one nite in early May 2006 - before I check into BWV.
