Hi everyone! Missed me around here?

Been staying very busy at work. And I've been putting in a little time over on the Disney Cruise Lines boards. I just booked a cruise yesterday! This time it's A.J.'s turn. We're sailing November 8th for a 4-night cruise to the Bahamas.

So, have I missed much around here? Everytime I check in it seems like it's been so slow on here!

Having 2 desserts a day was a bit much

I agree!!! we barely finished the two meals a day!! We did end up taking all of our snacks home in the form of bottled water.

Exciting news about your cruise!!

Yep, I'm so excited. I'm trying to control my excitement in front of A.J., though. Because if he gets too excited that's all he'll talk about for the next two months. I have told him and we've marked in on the calendar so that he can count the days. When I told him last night he wanted to go pack!

How have you been feeling?

So-so. Still having a lot of problems with my feet. But I do have my blood sugar levels down!

DH, Matthew and Andrew all have the flu. Matthew has been very sick all week. He's been out of school since Tuesday. DH and Andrew are just about over it but we had gotten Andrew to the doctor sooner than Matthew and they were able to give him something that literally stopped the flu in its track! Matthew was past the 48 hour mark and they couldn't give him anything. Andrew's doc told me to have DH take one dose of Andrew's medicine as soon as we got home because he was still under that 48 hour mark - but by the time he saw his doc the next day he would have been past the 48 hour mark. He took a dose of Andrew's medicine and then got a prescription for himself the next day and now he's fine!

Well, we made the leap and I think it will be the best investment we've made in a long time.

I went shopping for a new headboard last month. I wanted to keep the same furniture but change to a king size bed. I couldn't find anything that I thought would match. Our furniture is unique...it has acorns engraved in the center of the headboard and the top drawer of each of the pieces. I was about to give up and I went into this little hole in the wall, discount furniture place down in Hickory - and I found MY headboard, only in the king size! We bought our set about 16 years ago so what are the chances of that! So, I bought the headboard last month - and the only place I had to put it right now is in the living room!

So, anyway, we bought a Serta box-spring and mattress today. Can't believe the deal we got. I had found what I thought DH would want about 3 weeks ago but waited for the furniture store to have their traditional Labor Day weekend sale. They always have free financing for one or two years. So today I dragged DH over to Johnson City to pick one out. He actually liked the one that I had picked out...but it was on sale for $500 off!!!! And we had a special promotional coupon for repeat customers and that was for another $100 off!!! And we got the free financing for a year!!! And we got free delivery and set-up!!! (Considering we're 50 miles from there we weren't expecting that at all!) And, the best part....they gave me one of the stuffed little Serta Sheep!!!!

...ever since we got our King bed, I cannot imagine sleeping in anything smaller now.....

I slept in one for a few nights when I went down to FL last month. Sleeping in one other than in a hotel is totally different. When I came back I told DH I wanted to get one. Our bedroom isn't all that big but I'd rather be a little cramped walking around than sleeping!!
