If the park closing is 6 o'clock, do they board rides right up to 6? I

JK - As long as you are in the queue line at 6:00 (or whatever time the park closes) you will be able to ride. They will make sure everyone in line gets to ride.

From just our experiences the lines tend to be very short at park closing.

That is very helpful to know!! We will be going to AK in December (1st week) and trying to figure what we could possibly do after the parade!! I was hoping to do Kali River Rapids at the LAST POSSIBLE MOMENT!!!

Kali River in December I realize you are from Vermont, but are you sure about that? In case you need a backup plan, I know the last show of Festival of Lion King is 5:45 you are out by about 6:20 or so. All the lines close at six and if you are in the line you are on the ride.

I know, I know!!! Kali is my DS8 & DS6 top choice for AK. We rode Roman Rapids at Busch gardens and it was their favorite ride. We'll be (DH and myself) the trash bag couple! As for my boys- they jump in the Atlantic in February (off MA, not FL) so they will be loving it! (I will have a dry set of clothes packed).
I've been making my plan figuring on a 5 o'clock closing- who knows what WDW will change the hours to by Dec. In my plan I have FOTLK for the first showing. I'll cross my fingers for the extra hour- it would certainly help the tour.
