Last parking question, where to park for access to DL and DTD?

I plan of going to Disneyland and looked online at Disneyland website for parking rates. This site shows that it is $20 at https://disneyland.disney.go.com/tickets/parking

The fine print (below) states that the parking is not valid for Downtown Disney. Whats to stop me from taking a break from the Disneyland park and entering downtown disney? Can someone explain?

There is no issue with you exiting the gate at DL or CA to walk around Downtown Disney. It is all within the security bubble. Unlike WDW and Disney Springs, you don't drive to a separate location. As a matter of fact, if you walk or take the tram from the parking structure, you end up in Downtown Disney before you get to the park. I hope that makes sense.

Also, there are big signs that say no "theme park parking" in the Downtown Disney lot. It would not be uncommon for a cast member to monitor the entrance gate to remind people they need to park elsewhere.

Based on the wording, this doesn’t read to me that you cannot visit Downtown Disney, just that the voucher is not good for that DD parking lot (or hotels)

It's saying you are paying for the voucher, but it cannot be redeemed at DTD parking. You can use it for either of the parking lots, but not the DTD parking lot.

It isn’t that you can’t visit Downtown Disney, it’s that the DTD lot is not included in the theme park parking for $20. The downtown area has a separate lot, with separate fees and time limits.

Just echoing what others have said. You can park in Mickey’s or Toy Story and visit DTD. But you can not park in the DTD lot and spend the day at the parks. Well you can but it’ll cost much more than $20.

It does not say that you can't enter and visit Downtown Disney, it says that the parking voucher cannot be used in the Downtown Disney parking lot.

Is there one location to park that gives me access to both Downtown Disneyland and Disneyland Park? Where is this location and how much would it cost? Normally I would just park in the Disneyland parking lot and walk through Disneyland to access Downtown Disney but many people are tempting to sway me against this. What says you?

Exactly. Park at M&F parking structure, pay $20 for one day parking, then either take the tram to DTD and walk to the gates or walk to and through DTD to the gates. Look on Google Maps to see how easy this is.
