I sure hope DS doesn't get a late assignment notice today-We got a serious letter from the school yesterday-saying he's missed 9 assignments so far and school just started 3 weeks ago-here we go again-I just can't understand him???? We sit down and go over everything, try to help him stay organized and still he forgets things-Ughhhhhh makes me so frustrated

This is a repeat year and the way he's going -looks like he's still not ready for the 6th grade-and if he doesn't make it this year-both he and his sister will be in 6th grade together next year!!!!!!!(i'm sure he'll adjust soon better than later)

Maybe ask him what kind of system would help him remember things. And than try and go from there. I know sometimes DD doesn't like the way I have things working for her. You has an idea in her mind that works better for her. So we give it a try. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

Like a folder system. When homework is doen it goes in a colored folder that goes right in his backpack.

Like a folder system. When homework is doen it goes in a colored folder that goes right in his backpack.

We have the folders-doesn't seem to use them-even when I nag him to-looks like he's trying an organizer again-with all his papers and supplies in it

He's just struggling with the new school-and they don't accept late work-The school he just left let him not turn stuff in-and he ended up not passing because of it

I hope he adjusts soon-we have taken away things that matter most to him during his free time and it seems to help for a day or two-We just can't seem to make him understand that he needs to be responsible for his work getting done-Sorry for the vent-he's a smart kid-too much an artist for his own good and gets bored by all this classroom stuff-but one day it will click-just hope that's soon

That is the probably with Smart kids. They get bored easy. I hope he finds something that works for him.

I know-He will find something -he just is taking a long time to do so-and they want to start him on meds-but I refuse-he smart,just not interested in all the boring class stuff-unless it's hands on stuff or group discussions

When we took him to the Sylvan center-he tested very high-so it's just an organization malfunction-we will work out!!!!!
