Good Ol Gal said:well I had these big plans for such a great dinner and the house vetoed me and they all want different things. So we're having a "snacky" dinner. Ok, works for me too.

I am doing a full size Grandmother's Flower Garden with this pattern (except I will complete all the flowers, so it won't be a rectangle)

For the center of the flowers and the first ring outside I used material I had from the kids. I was going to use and old pillow case and window covering for the next two layers...but then decided to pick up fabric for the next ring today and I will use the pillow case fabric to connect them all....hopefully it will turn out okay.I think I will have a soild back and quilt just one hexagon on the inside of each peice.
so far it hasn't taken up much room....I have everything in three large zip-lock bags...when I piece everything together, then it will be big. Oddly, I have been finding it very relaxing to do at night...I wish I could do it at workMom2Ashli said:Very cool. If I had more room to leave things out I would do it more.
Lyn5 said:That makes perfect sense. I have been saving my extra peices and some clothes too. Last week, I made a bag for our library books/videos out of DH's old jeans and half an old pillow case for the liner....It was fun and actually easier than I thought it would be. My DMil gave me some really nice, large old jeans and a few unused shirts she was going to donate, so I am thinking of making a bag for her and putting one of my flowers on it....but first, I need to finish my quilt and that may take a while to finish...

Very cool though.
