Hello,

DH and I are planning a last minute trip to Walt Disney World 05-09 to 05-12 (in a couple of weeks). I am going to be in FL for business, so we thought we would take advantage of it, and see Disney World, (before we have kids) as I have never been.

We have done a little research. But I'm a little overwhelmed with all of the options. I think that we are going to stay offsite because, after adding everything up, it's seems like the cheapest option.
We will not have a car, so we're looking at offsite hotels/accomidations that have shuttles.

The Howard Johnson had a great deal right now, so we might be going with them.

Anyway, can you please give me your tips for staying off-site, and any other helpful info???

Should we add the dining options to our tickets, or is that only an option, if you stay on-site?

Point me to a different cattegory if I should post somewhere other than here!

Thanks so much,
Shannon :flower3:

okay look here for trip reviews before you go with HoJo.

www.tripadvisor.com

a couple of years ago some ladies were saying how great HoJo was and they were staying there. I really expected them to come back and say how wonderful it was. Well I am still waiting.

buses offsite - aren't buses onsite.

some hotels share. Some buses only go once or twice each morning, same in the evening for returning.

if you really don't want to get a rental car - I would suggest onsite. Pop Century isn't that expensive and is a very, very nice place.

You can only get the Disney Dinning if you are staying onsite and buying your tickets with your room.

room only - all stars is $335.64 for your dates - and yes that is alot more than $122.76 for hojo even adding the fees - $130.

is your work paying for the shuttle back to the airport - then that is something else to add.

Disney has DME and will take you back for free.

forgot there are 2 others offsite - very close to the back door to WDW and pretty reasonable - plus on the whole they get pretty nice reviews.

best western lakeside
www.bestwesternlakeside.com - has a copy of its bus schedule

quality Inn west - these hotels are neighors
www.choicehotels.com - with choice hotels be carefully some have a free bus shuttle others don't - read first.

We always stay OFF site but we rent a car. I can't imagin sending half my time waiting for a bus to bring me to a park and back. We have stayed at Howard Johnson main gate East.(there is more than one HOJO) It was OK. We now prefer condos( but that is with kids) but if you need something very very cheap it was good. nothing fancy, clean bed, dirty carpet, good location. But get a car. Other wise if You are really against a car I'd stay on site but there will be waiting for buses there too but not as bad as waiting for hotel buses.

My family stayed here a few years back they like that place.

I would personally wanted to go that place.
