We are staying at BCV in a studio 7/31 for 4 nights. We had reservations for our friends for Thanksgiving and it looks like they are going to cancel. Is it possible to do a last minute waitlist at BCV for a 1 or 2 bedroom since we will have all those extra points? I know it would take a miracle to come through. I checked with MS today and they are booked at present. I was just calling to make sure the friends reservation was made with current points instead of our banked points so I could bank them if I need to. Thanks.

Yes, you can waitlist, but at this point I'd really suggest daily calls.

This close to the date, called in reservations would be more likely to grab a cancellation than the waitlist (even if the waitlist is automatic), so I'd call a few times each day if possible.

Within 60 days, all availability is eligible for cash reservations, so CRO is also booking any DVC cancellation.

Go ahead and call!

Enjoy!

I tried to get on the waitlist for my most recent trip to BCV and was told that there is no waitlist for the 7 days prior to the requested date. That is to say, if you wanted to reserve a room for checking on 7/30 and you call MS tomorrow morning, they won't put you on a list. Like Doc said, you'll just have to call (and call and call) to check on room availability. Don't give up. I made ressies for the BCV grand opening (7/1) only a week ahead of our trip. I was only able to get two nights but, after calling once or twice a day right up until the time we left, I was finally able to add a third night. The folks at MS are used to this and it's not a problem. Just be prepared for quite a few NO's before you finally get the YES that you want. Keep trying and good luck. I hope everything works out just the way you want it.

I'm doing the same thing, trying to get a studio at BCV for Aug. 6-8, already have the 9-10 booked. Do I need to call EARLY to get any newly cleared rooms, or do they do this all day long? Diana

Cancellations won't happen between 10pm and 7am- so if you called at 9:45pm, there is little likelyhood that anything is available.

Cancellations happen throughout the day, so there is no "best" time to call. A cancellation could come just after you are hanging up the phone or just before you call.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the responses. I am still trying to decide if I should try to switch to a 1 or 2 bedroom. My friends are definately cancelling so someone will get their OKW 2 bedroom for Thanksgiving which will leave me with a lot of points I have to use or bank soon. I guess things could be worse.;)

Keep making those calls. My daughter was on a waitlist for July 28 and 29 for a BCV studio which didn't come through. She called this morning 7/23 and now has her reservation so good things do happen. Good luck and keep trying.
