I would love to hear from anyone who has booked a last minute trip to WDW. How long did it take for transportation, lodging arrangements, putting finances in order, making arrangements with employers, teachers, etc. ? How long from the point when you decided to go, to when you checked into your resort? I think it's really cool when people all of sudden decide to go to WDW, then just go ahead and do it!

I don't know if this is the appropriate board for this thread, but maybe we can all have some fun comparing stories.

Thanks!

Our quickest trip ever was planned and executed in one day!!!
My husband asked me on a Friday at lunch time if I wanted to go away for the weekend. I said yes. He said Where? Me: Disney World!!! Him: If you can make it happen. By 9 pm Friday night we were at the Philadelphia Airport (a 2 hour ride from our house) and in the air! This trip was our son's first ever to WDW and he was 20 months old! He even got his first haircut at the barber shop on Main Street during that trip!!!
We left in such a hurry I forgot to pack enough diapers for the whole time! But a great CM at the gift shop at CS said her son just outgrew the size my son was wearing and the next a.m. I had enough diapers for the whole trip!!!
Now that's Disney magic!!!!

Yesterday we made a last minute choice to go down do Disney next week. Taking advantage of the military offer that Disney has. DW starts new job in October so her side was easy to get off, kids in school and old enough to look out for themselves so thats set, my work was not that hard to get off from. Hotel is set and will play it day by day on what parks we do.

For my birthday, my DH gave me a letter and it said I could go to Disney World. I went on aol travel last minute vacations and DS and I were in Disney World around 10pm that night. It was about $300 each including car, nonstop on Delta. We used AAA for a discount at Coronado. Disney Club wouldn't work for that short of a notice. I had $300 Disney dollars saved since Christmas.
BTW DH hates Disney World. He says he would go if golf didn't cost so much.
