Last Minute Trip

My husband and I are cruising out of Port Canaveral on Labor Day, but we are arriving in Orlando on Sat afternoon. We haven’t been to WDW wince the new ticket pricing, and I am confused. What would be the best use of our money, and still be able to see the parks? We can do just one day, and I understand how park hopping works. My husband is also a veteran, and I have read something about Shades of Green in September allowing Honorably discharged discounts in September and January. HELP!! I want to surprise him!
