Last minute trip MagicBand question

If I book a trip for arrival 3.5 weeks from now, when will MBs ship? Has anyone been crazy enough to do this? I prefer not to pick up on site. TIA.

I think that you'll be okay. Disney doesn't even ship MBs out until after 30 days before arrival has passed. Just customize them in MDE ASAP and you should be fine.

They would ship almost immediately.

The magic bands should ship a day or two after the customization period ends but being so close you might not be able to customize them. They'll ship from some place in the midwest (Tennessee or Kentucky, it think?), not from Florida which was what I was expecting.

If you are a compulsive package tracker like me, the shipping will infuriate you, it'll stay in places for 2-4 days and then finally move but we've never had an issue where they haven't made it on time, even with "shipping exceptions" due to weather while in transit.

I booked less than that in May and got my bands in time. Look in your MDE, it will show when shipped.

I once had the magic bands waiting at the hotel when I booked close to my trip.

We booked a trip on 7/19 for an 8/20-8/21 stay and my magic bands are supposed to arrive today. (and they did ship through Memphis although I live in northern FL)

Accident, who runs a thread on MBs, says that if you book inside a week out they will be at your resort (though not personalized). I booked 10 days out and they were personalized and at the resort. But if you're 2+ weeks out then they are personalized and will be shipped.

I actually quite liked having them at the resort!

(though I must put a caveat there in that I don't actually like MBs, and want keycards-only back. having everyone wear crayon-color plastic bracelets makes me feel like I'm a toddler)

I booked 3 weeks out and was able to personalize and received within the week I booked.
