Last minute trip June 30 - July 3

Hi everyone, I'm pondering (seriously) a last minute weekend getaway for June 30 - July 3.

Any advice on crowds and weather this weekend? I teach summer school so this is the only summer weekend that I have (July 1st is Canada day).

ys, those are the final days before the AP summer blockout and you will likely have lots of locals there with you!

Sounds like it may be your only chance for fun in the sun.

It will be crowded so expect that and plan for it.
Weather should be about 65 to 85F that's roughly 15 to 30C.

We are going to be there the 1st thru the 6th. I am not really worried about the crowds. I am sure they will be bad but, like you, it is the only time we can do it. I figure time at Disneyland w/ a zillion people is better than no time at Disneyland.

Thank you Hydroguy for the link - it led to me clicking away madly! You have a lot of informative threads, thank you for putting that all together!

I forgot to mention in my original post that I have been to DL before. This was 2 years ago, as a celebration trip - we did the minimal amount of research and had the best time! We even went at one of the recommended times; mid-June (a 6 day trip, we landed on a Weds and left the following Monday). Fantasmic had just started up too - everything seemed to fall into place magically.

From what I remember - the best way to navigate the crowds is come in the morning; leave in the afternoon and head back for the evening extended hours?

And I'm looking forward to hopefully bumping into some DISer's! We'll be hard to miss - I'll be with my bro who is a 6'6'' Punjabi guy with the nicest smile! And my sister

Add us to the last minute trip mix...we've never done this so last minute before! We're going the 18-25. I'm feeling very nervous as usually at this point I have everything mapped out and all of our PS reservations made. This time--nothing yet as we just decided yesterday to go and changed our dates today!

We're also driving down for the first time, airline tickets were just through the roof expensive.

Congrats! I booked the hotel but am waiting to book the car for a couple weeks. Hotel can be cancelled if trip has to be postponed but car can't.
