Hi, I am trying to put together a trip to DL in 2 weeks!! I called for reservations and they have Paradise Pier and DL Hotel open for the dates I want. We stayed at DL Hotel 5 years ago and I liked it. There are 5 of us and my "KIDS" are 26,22,16 years. Any thoughts/experiences on what would work BEST for us?? I am thinking 2 rooms. ANY input is APPRECIATED!! We are 2x per year visitors to WDW,so I am more than willing to exchange info!! :) Thanks, Joan

I do know that PP and DLH offer the rooms with pull out sofas/daybeds. You would have to request it when you reserve your hotel, and I would call again right before you leave as a reminder! Will this be your first trip to DLR then?

Disneyland hotel has 2 queen beds with a single sofa bed but they will also give you a free rollaway. We put it in front of the window parallel to the queen beds and still seemed to have plenty of room. PP has the same 2Q+single sofa but will NOT let you have a rollaway because the room is smaller and won't fit one.

DLH is under construction but others say it has not really bothered them so it is a toss up but if you would be open to stay right across the entrance to DL on Harbor, there are lots of options for larger rooms that are closer to walk to than the disney hotels (and cheaper too!) Staying on property is not a necessity like at WDW since it is so compact at DL.

The ones right across the street include:
Best Western Park Place Inn http://www.parkplaceinnandminisuites.com/
mini suite has 2Q and pull out sofa bed. (microwave and minifridge-closest walk)

Tropicana http://www.tropicanainn-anaheim.com/rooms
Two Room Kitchen Suite has 2 Queens in each bedroom so 4 total and full kitchen, can get a rollaway for a fee

Carousel http://www.carouselinnandsuites.com/stay.htm
View Suite apartment sized 2 Queen Beds, 1 King Bed, Sofa Bed, Dining Room, Refrigerator, Microwave

Park Vue Inn http://parkvueinn.com/accomodations.htm
has family suites with more beds, maybe 3 Qs and sofa bed and full kitchen suites too

These are just the ones directly across from the cross walk but there are others as you go down the street a bit. I think all of these are closer to walk to than DLH and PP is longer than DLH.

Don't pick a hotel that you have to drive to DL or take the buses because it really eats into your park time!

THANK YOU for the replies! We are actually DVC members and I would like to use points for PPH or DLH. We could all fit at the DLH or with PPH I would reserve 2 rooms. I called member services today and they have rooms at both.:goodvibes So I am giving myself until tomorrow to decide. Seeing that my "kids" are older I am thinking PPH with the 2 rooms might be the best fit for us.This way we would have 2 bathrooms and 2 tvs!! Plus a bed for everyone. Except I will have to share with DH! ;) Joan

Joan, That sounds great! If I had a choice and enough points/money, I would pick PP with 2 rooms, like you said, to get 2 bathrooms is a big deal. The view rooms at PP are great if you can swing it! Ask for a high floor too.

Remember if you want them to open into each other, you have to ask for "connecting" rooms as adjoining just means next to each other in Disney hotel language.

Let us know what you decide tomorrow.

Hi, We are doing PPH but just standard rooms(it will save us 50+ points!) I have asked for a higher floor but not really sure I want the connecting rooms?? ;) Thanks for your input!! It is appreciated!! Joan
