I'm headed down to Orlando to see my oldest DD22, who is doing a college internship and living up by UCF, in about 2 weeks. We have had quick trips in Feb and March, and we have the weekday FL res. passes. I need my Disney fix but trying to balance practical and fun. We would like to go to Yak & Yeti and Ohana if I can get ressies. Here are the choices I'm considering...

2 nights at a value with dining $393
1 night at a value with DxDP $281

Stay at her apartment, drive the 45 min and pay OOP $278 (2 TS, 2 lunches, tolls, parking, gas)

WWYD?

I'd do the two nights, no question. It's only $100 or so more than your other options and double the time. Have fun!

If it wouldn't break the bank, I'd do the 2 nights. I'd rather stay 2 nights than 1, have 4 meals instead of 3.

It REALLY helps that DD got a $200 visa gift card for opening an account, buying gas, paying it off, and then putting the card away!! So the way I'm looking at it I only have to pay $200. :thumbsup2

Oh...and the quoted prices are military discount prices.

I would check to make sure that you can get your dining reservations before I paid for the dining plan. We are also going in 2 weeks, and the reservations for Yak and Yeti and O'hana have been gone for months. I know because my oldest DS decided he wanted to eat at Yak and Yeti, and I had the hardest time finding an ADR over a month ago - I managed to get one at 11:00 - pretty early for lunch! I am still looking for a reservation for the Plaza, so I check everyday, and haven't seen an O'hana ADR pop up in a long time.

I was able to get Y&Y reservations, but haven't been able to get Ohana (or Garden Grill which is my 3rd choice). I'm flexible on which week we go, but need to figure it out pretty quickly! Either 5/25-27 or 6/1-6/3. We only have 3 people so maybe thats why Y&Y was easier to get, I got 4pm or 3pm depending on which week we go.

and now my 16yo says she might like to go! I'm never going to get ADRs! LOL

Keep trying! People cancel their trips all of the time and their ADRs get canceled when they do. You never know when a table will open up.

Thanks for everyone's help - I booked Pop for June 1-3 with the regular dining plan. I got Yak and yeti and Kona Cafe (we haven't ever been there so hope its good!) I'm going to keep trying for Ohana or Garden Grill but don't mind trying something new.

My 16yo doesn't want to go this time, but my 20yo does now, too bad its the 16yo who already has a weekday pass! :headache::rolleyes:
