Last Minute Trip - even possible?

Been to Disney many times. Usually with a 6-month planning window. We are Annual Passholders from out of state. We generally do room-only trips, prefer deluxe resorts club level.

Due to a number of circumstances, I've had some time in November free up. I was thinking of doing a quick 3-day visit with a couple of my kids.

I've never done a last-minute trip... is it worth it? Any room deals to be had?

Thanks all. And please stay safe with Matthew approaching. I have been through a few storms. Use common sense. I agree with posters on other threads that riding out at WDW instread of trying to travel home during the storm may be optimal. They will have good plans in place.

We were previously in the bullseye, and was very surprised to see the change to Florida late last night....

With a last minute trip you might be a prime candidate for a dvc points rental- check the rent/trade board here on DIS and see if anything is available for your dates. You just might score a great deal. Good luck!

The odds on DVC are really low unless OP finds a confirmed reservation. The current rent/trade threads are full of peo looking between now and New Years, and there are no weekend dates in November for studios anywhere. They also won't be CL.

Best chance at deals is Orbitz or similar. You won't find any via Disney.

There are some good deals for Annual Passholders in November - most are deluxe and I have seen club level at Yacht Club and Beach Club available.

I love last minute trips because it's almost like a game to catch hotel and dining reservations and then book FP+ on the fly in the park.

I managed to book a last minute trip for my friend during the peak of December. It can be done provided you're not picky about your resort because I imagine your options will be limited there.

I don't know about room deals but do know fast pass and adr part are doable. I had to canceled a trip I planned far out then about 30 days out was able to reschedule it. As long as you adjust expectations - frozen ride - o'hana etc it can be done. I got pretty much everything I wanted at times I wanted. And still making changes - I arrive tomorrow

Just got back from a 5 night stay at the BC that was thrown together exactly 2 weeks to the day from arrival. Found a convenient flight, pretty much got all the FP+ we wanted, but it took some doing. Restaurant reservations were not to be had, but we were happy with primarily quick service meals anyhow (although we did get 1 breakfast, 1 lunch and 1 dinner reservation - again, it took some doing).

All in all it was a great last minute trip. Deals? No, I think I got hit over the head, especially with the flights. But hey, you only live once, right?

Oh, and the family and I are planning to really do a last minute (as in, "hey lets go tonight") trip sometime in the dead of winter. I'll let you know how that goes.

I just booked a 3 night stay and there was great availability even with the Florida resident rates for a few weeks from now in October. I would say it would definitely be possible to book a last minute trip in November, I always book ours no more than 60 days out. In fact, my upcoming trip in December with my boys which I booked a week ago is the first time I have qualified to make fastpasses 60 days out.

I think you will be pleasantly suprized with how easy it is. I have booked 30
Days out for Halloween at AKL Kidani and 7 days out at AKL Jambo Week week after Labor Day both through the website and got great deals and ADRs. Call Dreams Unlimited if you need help!
