Last minute trip - dining options?

My family is planning a very last minute trip to WDW. We usually take the Deluxe Dining plan, but it looks like most of the restaurants are pretty booked over the next week. If we stay at club level at one of the resorts, can the Concierge help secure reservations? If not, would it be better to take a taxi to eat off site each night?

I don't know if Concierge has access to ADRs that aren't in the system for everyone else, but if you check the app a day before, you'll find plenty of options. A quick look at tomorrow night's availability shows multiple options in every park and most hotels. Since people have to cancel a day before to avoid being charged, that's the most likely time to find openings.

I don't think you have to stay club level to have a concierge help you. We had one at the Beach Club that helped with ADR's and we did not stay club level. We were able to get in most places while we were on-site just a day or two before. As long as you're flexible about meal times and locations, you should be good. Some of my favorite restaurants that are easier to get in to are Captain's Grille and The Wave. You should also have decent luck at the Swan/Dolphin if you're not on the DDP. Those restaurants tend to me less full. Good luck!

I'd avoid the commitment of DxDP if you're planning on short notice. You ought to be able to get ADRs at 30 days, and at 48-24 hours, but you'll need to be flexible. Swan/Dolphin restaurants are also options, but don't accept DDP at all.

You should be able to eat, but you'll need to be flexible.

How many people are in your party? And what times are you trying to get?

I went onto the Disney website and looked at 5:00 pm dinner ADR's for 4 at the Signature Restaurants and found plenty of available seating's. The only exceptions were California Grill, Flying Fish (closed) Narcoossee's, and V&A. Just about everything else was available during the week as well as on Friday and Saturday evening. If you like breakfast there were some very nice options including a couple of buffets such as the Wave, Boma and a nice character buffet at Cape May Cafe all prior to rope drop. I also looked at lunch and there were some very good choices available both in the parks and in the nearby resorts. I see no reason to go off site each night if you are on the DxDP... But then again, like I said, I only looked at seating for next week and it had plenty of ADR's for 4 throughout the week.

You will be fine. We very rarely make adrs until the day before or day of. Because of the cancellation rules tons of options open up at the last minute. As long as you are flexible on time and location the world can be your proverbial last minute food oyster
