I would like to pre purchase our character meal tickets for Minnie and Friends because we are going at a peak time and I want to save money;). Does anyone know which tickets I should be buying? It's not clear on the website if I need the standard or the premium tickets. I would hate to buy the wrong ones!

I had NO idea that you could purchase these ahead of time.

Does it save much money???

We will be at the parks June 1,2 and 3. We are eating at Goofy's, Ariels, PCH and Blue Bayou.

Should I buy these now....or wait until we get there?! This is our first trip so I have no idea how much everything costs.......

You do save quite a lot and when we purchased ours, I remember they included gratuity. However, we got a print out confirmation of purchase and didn't know we first needed to go to a booth in front of the park and stand in line to get the actual voucher. If you purchase from any website, remember to get the vouchers ahead of time.

Thanks!

So I need premiums for Goofy's and Ariel's right?

and then standard for PCH....

The small print at the bottom of the order page says valid at: and names places....PCH is not listed. So....should I not buy those :confused3 I would assume all character dining should be covered.....

I just called Disney Dining & for June prices for our trip:
Plaza Inn w/ Minnie & Friends are $27.99/$13.99
Celebration Round-up is $24.99/$9.99

So we would spend more $ buying those vouchers
Ares & Getaway today are both $31/$16 + Convenience fees.

silly!

Thanks! We are going next week. I'll call dining and find out what the prices are before purchasing any vouchers!

Yes, when we looked into this for our June trip, the only significant savings with the vouchers were Ariel's lunch/dinner, Goofy's dinner, and the Surf's Up with Mickey breakfast at PPH. The others are break even, loss or minimal savings at best.

We found this out the hard way this past Friday. Dh initially spoke to LMT & disney dining to confirm what we needed to bring and was told to just bring the voucher/email we receieved from LMT. We checked in and sat down and told gave our server the email/voucher and was told we needed to redeem them at the ticket booth in th esplanade. DH was not happy about having to go back to the esplanade during dinner, so the server told us that we could be escorted after dinner to the ticket booth to get the vouchers. So we had dinner and food was mediocre at best. When check was presented and dinner was finished dh and an escort went to the tickets booths and spent over 25 minutes trying to figure out why we weren't in their systems. After dh called LMT and having them speak to the disney and several faxes later, we finally got the voucher redeemed (they looked like paper park tickets or like the free 5X7" photo vdisney visa vouchers). We were a party of 6 adults and 1 kid so the savings was over $50 or about $25 if we used our AP discount. It was a bit of hassle since it was never clarified that we needed to exchange it for actual vouchers and that disney could not find our confirmation in their system. Now that we know how it works, we may continue to use LMT for character meal vouchers, especially if we go during peak prices when savings are greater.

So I need to go to a ticket booth and exchange my vouchers? Can I exchange all of them at once?

I've done the math a million times and we'll be saving a lot of money buying from LMT so that's what we intend to do. We save the most at Ariel's, then at PCH Grill.....and then we'll actually lose $4 at Goofy's but I figure it evens out with the savings from the other two so I'm just buying all our vouchers at once. :)

But they give you the price pre tax & tip ~ I don't think the vouchers will work for the Celebration BBQ anyway - as long as I break even I like the vouchers ~ I look at them as pre paying. Vouchers will definitely save $$ @ Goofy's & Ariel's.

That's correct - you have to add tax and tip which is included in the voucher prices. 27.99 with 8.75% tax and a 15% tip comes to $34.62, the $13.99 kids would be $17.31.

Some character meal vouchers work out in your favour and some don't - it depends on the season and you need to do the math. I looked only a few that we were considering, and I found that Ariel's and Goofy's dinner (and dinner only) are winners, as is PCH Surf's up with Mickey.
