Hi!

We are leaving on Thursday super duper early!! We have not told the kids yet! Its killing me to hold it in!

We have HOJO ressies for the week and are so so so glad we requested the kids suite! I am so impressed with Lorealle (sp?) :) and her dedication to helping us tourists! I highly recommend booking through this hotel - I will let you know how it is and take lots and lots of photos of the suite and our experience! :goodvibes

We have never been to DLR before, and only to WDW once. We currently have 3 day hoppers... do you think we should upgrade to another day? We will get to our hotel by early afternoon I think...should we use a days pass on half a day at the parks?? I don't know how we could stay away!! What is the process of upgrading?

We're vegan/vegetarians and are wondering in there are any must-eat places? :)

Also, I am packing tomorrow. What the schmoo should I pack?? I am currently wearing layers and layers and can only stay outside for 7 minutes before my skin freezes. Any other things I should remember to bring??

I have a 6yr old and a 2yr old. The only other thing we're doing is Legoland. We just want to take it easy and be together. Any other advice!? :)

Thanks Dis-ers!

Highs in the mid-70's this week. Hope that's not too warm for you! ;) Lows are said to be in the high 40's, but it was 38 in our patio this morning.

Small World Christmas overlay is still open, but HM is closed for overlay removal, and they've started draining the Rivers of America so that closes down a slew of attractions.

I'm sure you'll spend some time at Mimi's Cafe, although I'm not sure what is within a vegan diet. Maybe the kids can have Mimi Mouse Pancakes?

Congrats on your trip! Have fun!

Couple of things...I would add a day. We've always not been sorry to go slower and spend more days especially with smaller kids.

Last year I was vegan/vegetarian for 6 months. Strange I know, but I've always wanted to try it out. I eat Chicken now though and have added dairy back also. Anyway, I found this link on another site and used it when we went last March. It was SO valuable. But, even with this list, I thought it was hard eating veg in DL. But, that may be because I had always gone before not trying to eat that way? But, good luck to you! It can be done, because I did it! :thumbsup2

As for the weather, we were just there a week and a half ago. We wore jeans, and t-shirts with a light sweatshirt. One day my son wore shorts. We brought heavier jackets and scarves for the evenings, but even some nights didn't need them. You won't freeze. I believe the highs next week are to hit 75!

I would not use a day's ticket if I would only get a half day in the park. I suggest you either add a day, or plan a Downtown Disney afternoon. You can explore World Of Disney, the Lego Store, and have a meal at either Rainforest Cafe or Goofy's Kitchen to get everyone in the mood. Also plan some time to relax and enjoy HoJo's great pool area.

It should be pretty easy to upgrade your ticket at the DLR booths to a 4 day park hooper. I'm sure its not too much $.

I agree that since the park will close at 8:00pm on Thursday, you may just want to take it easy and walk around Downtown Disney. The kids would love the Rainforest Cafe.

We are arriving early afternoon the following Saturday, but since the park is open late, we'll be heading to the park right away.

Have fun and enjoy the warm weather!

How on earth do you survive in Alberta????

The thread referred to is a good one, especially the posts by that hobbitfeet person. She and I share the views. The exact same views. Almost like we're the same person or something. :rotfl::upsidedow

Vegan is, of course, more difficult! But vegetarian is not much of a problem at all. I highly recommend the Vegetarian Chili at Pacific Wharf Cafe in DCA (especially if you get it in a bowl, and take the bread in a bag!), and the rice bowls with tofu at the chinese place right nearby is good, too. I think they are selling the chili in New Orleans Square near where the Columbia docks, but I'm in the mood for the veggie gumbo when in NOS, so I haven't double-checked.

I'd upgrade, but then, I'd upgrade to an AP. I'm just like that. :flower3:

OH, and I love your glass houses "flair". :)
