I'm a Long Time Reader, First Time Writer! This is a great site, I hope someone can give me a little advice!

I am planning a last-minute vacation to Disney, and I am worried about Thanksgiving Day. I have not been successful in making reservations in any nice restaurants for that day because most are reserved already.

We are flying in on Thanksgiving day:crazy: and am wondering if it would be terrible to just eat at our hotel (ASMo). I suppose this would not traumatize my kids DD7 and DD2. I can think of worse!:teeth: Actually they would probably be satisfied with McDonalds!

Any advise on this?

I think I read a post that said that they did have thanksgiving fare at the All Stars Food Courts on Thanksgiving.

BUT, I wouldn't give up on getting a PS just yet. Start calling again at 30 days out. They seem to open up more times then.

I've been calling for 3 weeks and finally got the Pirate Cruise for the day I wanted. People change their ressies all the time!

Good luck!

Last year (like this year) we flew down on Thanksgiving Day. Our families got together and celebrated the weekend before, that way we all got to see each other and didn't miss out on the yummy food.

We're staying at ASMu and plan on eating at the food court and then swimming. That would be great if they did have Thanksgiving fare! DD6 & DD22 will enjoy that...as will mom and dad.

Delmont, where in central Ohio are you? I'm in Danville, about 15 miles east of Mount Vernon.

_________:moped:______ Outta' my way...I'm goin' to Disney!

Thanks for the great advice. I guess I am just too worried about the little things. Thankfully, my husband could really care less about all the small details! We are just thankful to get away for a few days because it is hard for us to get away because we have a small business. We figured since we will be closed Thanksgiving...why not fly to DISNEY?!?!:wave2:

We are from Amanda, which is about 30 miles south of Columbus (just west of Lancaster). Maybe we will see you there!

Happy Thanksgiving!:flower1:

We'll be there! Yahoo! I can't wait!! I don't care about having Thanksgiving foods, it's never as good somewhere else as at home! We are going to try to have Thanksgiving lunch on Sunday after, (we get home Sat night) Maybe we'll see you there!

delmont, I've been through Amanda several times, but I can't remember why. I remember it because I have a daughter named Amanda and we teased her about having a town named after her.

Have a fun, safe trip! We'll be the group (DH, Me, DD22 & DD6) all wearing those glowing necklaces...well, at least the females will be.

We stayed at ASMo for T-Giv. 2002. They did serve traditional Thanksgiving meal in the food court. I would call for PS and keep calling. Next time you call ask the CM what their advice would be.

Best of luck.

We will actually be at Universal on Thanksgiving day staying at RPR and was going to make reservations at Emeril's restaurant. My sons are 9 and 11 - I figure the food will be more than they want to experience. We may end up at Shoney's or such for pressed turkey. I am going with the thought that we are sharing time together instead of the great meal my MIL always prepares for us. :hyper:
