Last Minute Spring Break Trip

My husband has been dying to see a Space Shuttle Launch for years.... Well, there is one on April 19th---my son's birthday AND our Spring Break. How perfect, he thought... We will drive from NY, use our DVC points for our room, and see the launch. I humored him and called DVC telling him the odds of getting a room that week were slim to none. To my surprise, the CM found us a studio at Jambo house for 4 nights!!

This has now turned into a full on Disney Trip---now I don't know about Jambo house, should I waitlist somewhere else, or just be happy with what I have...

No harm to WL, but I would be happy with what you have. We have always enjoyed Jambo House and your getting very close to Easter, so rooms will definitely be limited. Glad you got the days you did get!

Just wanted to add that I know of someone who recently planned (and went on) a trip at the same time as the launch was scheduled and was a little disappointed that it didn't go off as planned. When NASA has technical problems, they have to postpone. So this person didn't get to see it while he was there, but still had a great time at Disney.

I could be wrong, but I think the shuttle launch has been postponed more than once. So, I just wanted to throw it out there in case the success of this trip in anyway hinges on seeing the launch.

My husband is more gung ho about the launch than me. I'm just using it as an excuse to go to Disney AGAIN! So much easier to tell people we are going to see the space shuttle than see the look on their face when we mention Disney again. The conversation goes well until they ask where we are staying.

Jambo is a great place to be. The lounge is so relaxing, there's the two sit down restaurants, both yummy, great pool, and of course, first and foremost, the animals! I'll be there next week and I just can't wait to see my "home" again!

That is soo familiar. I usually don't tell people my plans anymore specifically because of that look. We were in WDW for Christmas and like you managed to convince hubby that an easter trip is an excellent idea. Maybe I can tell people that we're going to watch the shuttle launch for easter break. You'll have to give me more details on the shuttle launch so I can get my story straight.

By the way, Jambo House should be wonderful! We've noticed that the newer resorts have nicer/cleaner and no maintenance issues required.

LOL! I love it! And can definitely relate!

I hate going during the hot months but my DH is a big Star Wars fan which is definitely NOT a time of the year I'd ever consider going commando style. But I told him the other day since we are buying into DVC, if he ever wants to attend SWW, I'd be happy to go. Of course, I warned him I might only stay in the park for a few hours and would then head back to our resort and spend some time there enjoying the pool and other amenities. Sounds like a great plan to me!

We know exactly what u mean about that "look" when we say we're going to WDW again! ;
we just got to the point where we don't care!
its our place, you guys already know why it is just the place we love to go the most! So no more excuses, we laugh at that look, and let the good times roll!
Also, we've stayed at jambo and kidani, both awesome places! 48 hours and I'll be. there again!
