So, after three years of being addicted to the boards and being a complete observer (this is my first post!), I have decided to do my first pre-trip report, which will hopefully be followed by a full and detailed proper trip report

My partner and I booked a last minute holiday to Disney World today, I think excitement is an understatement

We have been on two Disney holidays previously, in 2009 and 2011, both the best two weeks of my life!

So, down to the 2012 details!

We will be arriving in Orlando on September 5th, followed by 14 nights of bliss in the Animal Kingdom Lodge's Kidani Village. Flights and hotel booked, now we need to make a decision on the dining plan - standard or deluxe? I have been researching this for ages, but can't make my mind up. Any advice greatly appreciated!

Anyway, I will update this report with our holiday plans as they progress (not that long left now!) as well as posting full ADRs we make, where there will surely be advice required :cutie:

:wave2: I'll be reading! Our dates will overlap somewhat, but we're staying at FQ.

As far as the dining plan goes, do you enjoy TS restaurants more than QS? From what I understand, to get your money's worth out of the DDxP, you pretty much have to stick to TS restaurants. That means being tied to lots of ADRs, so if you like a more laid-back vacation, that might not work out best for you. OTOH, it includes three meals per day, and the regular DDP only includes two ... so it also depends on your eating style. You also need to make those ADRs ASAP, regardless of which plan you choose. ::yes::

Hope I've given you some "food for thought" (pun intended). :teeth: Look forward to reading more details on your plans. :)

Hi bearcats :-)

Thanks for your advice, I have decided to go with the standard dining plan, I don't think I could manage the deluxe one :-)

I have done all my ADRs now, which helped determine which plan I needed.

Hope your planning is going, are you doing a ptr?

Yep. Just click the link in my signature line if you want to come visit me! :teeth:

So, I am one step closer with my travel planning :cool1:

I have now made most of my ADRs - hope I have made the right choices - I would appreciate it to hear from anyone who thinks I have made the wrong choice with something :)

So here goes for dinner reservations!

- Jiko
- Wolfgang Puck (not the Express)
- California Grill
- Ohana
- Le Cellier
- Le chefs de France
- Sanaa Restaurant
- Flying Fish Cafe
- Boma
- and as a super treat (credit card will be making an appearance!) - Victoria and Alberts

What does everyone think of the above? I will be making 3 more evening reservations, any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I will of course post photos of all the above mentioned meals during my trip!:littleangel:
