with only a week to go im panicking now...

1)
My friend told me today that she thinks it will be too much for my 4 year old to walk around all day, and may considering hiring out a buggy? What are your experiences with having a little 4 year old in tow?? and any ideas how much the buggies are to hire, as I dont have one myselft anymore, no need for one for a long time.

2)
I am now considering booking a charachter meal.. should I do this before going, and could you please give me some info how to do this to be able to use the half board voucher (also asked in another thread incase youve answered already lol )

3)
My friend also told me that in Florida you could buy kiddies some flasks and top it up with soft drinks.. is this the same for Paris, and can you do the same sort of things for adults hot drinks or anything, or do you have to go to a kiosk each time to get a drink?

4)
Are there any towels provided in the hotel New york, or do you always bring your own?

Thanks so much... im sure i had more but my minds gone blank lol

1) i doubt most 4=year-olds would need a buggy. it depends on the pace you set. you rest legs on rides, when eating and at shows. if you're sensitive to their needs i'm sure they'll be fine. i have seen lots of big kids in buggies but my 2 1/2 year old was fine. something to bear in mind is that you can choose rides with no queue or use fastpass so that there isn't too much standing. the flying carpets ride in disey studios is the same as dumbo but has less of a line.
also you can get into the park early with extra magic hours and go on the popular rides then.

2) you only need to book character lunches a day or two ahead generaly and unless you have very specific times required you'll be able to do it on the day. at lucky nugget our waiter asked just after we were seated if we had half-board vouchers. you would need them at the time of booking for buffalo bills though as you pay when you book (i think!)

3) they have the drink top-up in california and i don't think it exists in paris - they have souvenir drinks but i don't think it's unlimited. there are lots of water fountains and you could fill a bottle with apple or orange juice at breakfast. if you hve trouble finding water fountains there are some in each of the arcades along main st.

4) there will be towels!!

Hi

I would think it probably depends on your child. I took a buggy when I went with my 4 year old. It was great if we needed to get to a show quick, she just jumped in and off we went. It's handy for hanging your shopping on, storing snacks in etc and if you're going at this time of year by all accounts its getting cold. If you're standing around waiting for the Parades you could tuck them in with a blanket, stake out your spot and hopefully nobody is going to get in your way and you will have a reasonable view for any videoing or picture taking as if your child is in the buggy in front of you you will have a clear view and fingers crossed nobody is going to try and push you out of the way.

I'm still taking our old buggy even though DD will be 6 this time and I haven't used it in years (except on last trip to Disney). I can just imagine it pouring down and trying to get her to walk back to the hotel without complaining. At least if we have bad weather and she's in the buggy the journey can be done in half the time.

Only my thoughts on the matter. I'm sure there will be plenty of others with different experiences.

We always grab a buggy (free if you have an annual pass) - at one time or another one of the kids has sat in it and if not its somewhere to stash our rucksacks and purchases.

Thanks... any ideas how much to hire one?

Its the first time ive ever been and dont have an annual pass :)

My 4 year old niece is coming with us next time and I've recommended that my sister bring a buggy along, even if we only use it in the evenings. There is an awful lot of walking although it also depends on how long you're planning to stay in the parks.
I wouldn't say it's essential my DS turned 5 at DLRP during our first visit and managed without, it wasn't something I considered he was fine in the parks, but the walk out of the parks and to the shuttle bus was very long for his tired little legs.

Im taking my 3.5 yeat old and we will be taking a buggy for him, will probably only take it into the parks the last couple of day because i think he may get tired towards the end of the holiday. My neice is coming too and she is 4 and my sister in law is taking a buggy for here for the same reason.
