All- considering a last minute trip for next week (4th of July thru Sunday the 8th)- I checked room availability and there are surprisingly good resort availabilities and lowish prices for most resorts- does that suggest that next week won't be too too packed? Also, will TSL opening keep HS off limits? Thanks!

I'll be there next week, have been trying like crazy to modify my FPs and have had zero luck with any park except Epcot. I think it's going to be crowded, but I hope to be proven wrong.

It was not too bad last year at fourth of july, and we had two days off in 2017 versus the one day off this year. I don't think it will be too bad. FPs are always hard to modify under the 30 day mark until the day of because you are past the point where packages are refundable, and because there is no penalty for cancelling so people hold on to them longer than ADRs.

Right now we have a trip from July 2-7 planned and you are right... room rates and availability were pretty decent. We're actually considering cancelling here in the last few days before our trip because the weather looks shoddy. We're passholders and we were just there in June and we had a great trip. I'd love to visit again soon, but the weather and crowd concerns are making it tempting to stay away.

How strange. We will also be there next week and I modified several FP last week, no issues.

It'll be slammed but I'd be right there with you if I could!

I don't think I understand the question. Do you mean "Will TSL opening make it difficult to get into DHS?" I wouldn't think so, but perhaps that's not the question.;)

Park crowds are only marginally impacted by resort availability, generally speaking (it requires a lot of off-site folks and locals to really fill the parks). To me, resort availability itself doesn’t tell the whole story.

Last year we really enjoyed 7/4 week and thought crowds were manageable. This year, I’m expecting a bit higher crowds overall given TSL.

Can I ask what, in particular, about the weather forecast is worrying you? Seems like standard Florida summer weather to me. Certainly not much different than June was.
