Last minute...is this worth it?

Hello and TIA for your input! We are leaving on a cruise out of Port Canaveral May 20th. Due to flight circumstances, we will end up with a night and a full day in Orlando before we head to Port the next day. Now I have my favorite place on earth on the brain and can't stand the thought of being so close without going to a park. So tell me, is it even worth it with this late notice/planning? With people so quick on their FastPass game now, would we even stand a chance getting on popular attractions if I buy a one day ticket now? It is a lot of money to spend if we can't enjoy much...your expertise is greatly appreciated! *Just DH and myself. No kids. As a family we have been a few times but always with months and months of planning.

Yes. Purchase your tickets and book your 3 FPs.

For May 19th, FPs for a party of 2 are available in all parks with the exception of FoP, SDD, and 7DMT. Other than those 3 rides, everything is showing availability.

Plan on arriving well before the park opens if you are choosing AK or DHS.

That is very helpful! Thank you!

And don't forget, you can pick up last minute FPs that other people cancel if you check throughout the day... on the day of your visit.

How often you decide to be on your phone is up to you, but availability changes every second of the day so some people use the "refresh" method on their phone to keep checking and snag a cancelled pair of FPs the second they become available.

The good news is that having been for a few family trips, you should know what you enjoy and you can prioritize. Especially since the others were family trips and you will do this one as a couple. That can change everything.

For example, my wife and I took a long weekend trip last January. We spent 1 day at Epcot for the Arts Festival and one day at AK to linger over all the beautiful trails and exhibits that our kids rush past. Plus, nice meals are cheaper with 2 instead of 5! Because our expectations were so different, it honestly didn’t matter what FP we had available. We rode a few things, but that was it. Have fun!

How can you not visit?:earboy2:
It'd be like a weekend in Paris without seeing the Eiffel Tower. Like Rome without the Vatican. Like Yellowstone without a trip to Old Faithful.
Unthinkable!

I would absolutely do this. I would have a tough time picking which park, but once you do, then just plan to RD the headliner that you likely won't get the FP for (FOP, SDD or 7DMT).

I was thinking same thing. You can’t go to Rome and not visit the Vatican. You can’t visit Southern California and not go to DL either.

That is why I love these boards! Fellow Disney lovers make me feel so much better about this decision. :)

The fact that there is only 2 of you makes me say go for it even more! While expensive, a day trip to Disney for 2 is so much cheaper in comparison than paying for our family of 5. And being just DH and myself we could just enjoy the atmosphere, without the go-go-go of the kids and being upset if they didn't get on their favorite ride.

The biggest regrets we have in life are almost always based what we wish had done, instead of what we wish we hadn't done.
