My daughter works on the Dream, which is where I was supposed to be right now *sigh*. I am very thankful that she is safe and understand that's the way it had to be but I am still very disappointed. It's her birthday on Thursday and I had a cake ordered and she had put in a request to eat in the dinning room with us for that day. The Dream is due back in port on Friday and I was wondering about sending her flowers or a cake. I'm just not sure if businesses will be up and running yet. I'm open to suggestions.

Well, I'm not sure, even if businesses are up and running by then, whether you can send something to the ship. DCL doesn't accept private deliveries any longer.

Unless you can send it somewhere besides the port/ship.

Oh darn, I thought I remembered talk on here about private deliveries but that was years ago. I will send her something in the mail but it will be pretty late since we are from Canada.

Yeah, there was a gift basket service that DCL allowed deliveries from. But they stopped a couple of years ago.

Even the Dreams Unlimited goody bags are no longer allowed to be delivered to the ship, they mail them now.

You might try calling DCL's official Gifts and Amenities line at (800) 601-8455 . They deliver to the cabins of guests. Maybe they can help you get something to your daughter's cabin. It might help if you have a cabin number.

If you have her pernr number and all that fun stuff you can use pretty much any online delivery, although I would avoid food or flowers due to his they're bought on/stored/delivered to crew.
Places like Amazon send hundreds of packages to the ship each embark for crew.

These are great ideas. Thank you!

I have a "partial idea" . . . why don't you check the "cruise meets thread" for next week and see if you could work with someone that is cruising next week to approach her and give her something next Thursday with a "one week late" special gift/message from Mom.
