Hi, I need a some advice. We are considering taking the 5 night cruise on the dream that double dips in CC. This would be our 2nd cruise with DCL. Is it crazy to book a cruise with such short notice? I called and researched (a little) and DCL has availability and we could be all set by handing over our credit card... Problem is that I usually
Spend 6 months to a year planning a disney vacation. So I guess I'm looking for some words of wisdom on whether 2 weeks planning is enough for a DCL? I already know we will have the late seating but are there other things such as excursions (specifically to Atlantis) that might be closed out? How about reservations to Palo or Remy? I would love nothing more than to spend 5 nights with my kids and hubby without everyday distractions and lots of Disney magic! Thanks in advance!

Go to dining changes when you first board and get on a wait list. We found we enjoy late seating better:) Depends on age of your twins. Our twins were about 8 when we discovered late seating. Also Check Palo/Remy asap when you board. The Atlantis might be the only thing booked but I still think they hold back some ressies so just check when boarding.....Do it if you can afford. Our twins are turning 21 in Sept...wish we had sailed more when they were young!

These are no plans necessary cruises! You can snag a Palo or Remy onboard! How exciting! Go for it!

I most always sail last minute and booked the Double Dip. Yes, we are on late seating which I don't care for, but I hope to change when we get on board. If not, then we will just eat late. Can't wait for 2 days at CC! Remy brunch is sold out, so that's a bummer but I know we will still have a blast.

I did a (non DCL) cruise at t minus 5 days to sail in June. It was a 7 day cruise and I'd never even been on a cruise before. Planning is fun, but so is relaxing. I did just enough of the former to make sure I could do the latter.

Any day on a DCL is a blessing.
OP, It is your money, so you need to make up your mind.
Relax you can find plenty to do on the ship without planning every moment. A spontaneous trip can be a lot of fun and experience things that you would not of done if you planned everything.
IMHO, go for it!

I think it would be wonderful! Go and have fun! As others said, you can go onboard to get Palo and Remy reservations (if they are sold out) and check about any excursions you might want to take.

As an OCD over planner, I should probably consider the very thing you are! LOL. Maybe a break from planning is what some of us really need?!?! Go for it. Sounds fantastic. :)

We did a Halloween cruise on the dream booked 2 weeks in advance and a cruise the weekend before Christmas last year with 6 days in advance. We did not have an issue getting the excursions that we wanted either time. It was actually very nice to not have to stress for so long planning and over thinking. The Christmas cruise my wife and I were discussing while we were waiting for a table for dinner. Decided to do it and I booked the cruise and she did the flights from out phones. Had it booked by the time we were done with dinner. Went home and did the excursions and were done. When we did Alaska I spend weeks researching excursions and thinking about what to do and have spent the last year planning our cruise next month. The last minute ones were much more relaxing.

I would love nothing more than to spend 5 nights with my kids and hubby without everyday distractions and lots of Disney magic!
Nothing needs to be planned to do this. No Palo/Remy, no excursions, nothing. The Dream will keep you entertained for 5 nights without any advance planning.
So it's a no-brainer: book it and enjoy it.
