Last minute changes/need to do split stay - HELP!

We have our trip planned for 8/23-8/31 and woke up this morning wanting to add days to the beginning of our trip. It is myself, my husband, and 3 kids (6,4, and almost 2). We are staying at the Poly but in order to add days we'd need to stay at the Pop. Would this be a mistake? We are driving down through the night from NJ and this gives us more settling in time the next day and gives us an extra day to do Animal Kingdom (we already planned 3 days at MK, 2 days at Epcot, one day at DHS and one day at Blizzard Beach). We try to only do mornings at the parks, return for nap and swim, and then go for dinner and a relaxing evening. This pace worked for us for our last trip.

We did the same thing in jan. Stayed at POFQ to arrive a day earlier then switched over to CR. They will transfer your luggage to the other resort so you can go to the parks...its great! Or you can do it yourself since you may need to move your car but you could do it during naptime etc.

Update: After calling them again, we would be able to swing POR for the nights with park hopper. Is this a good move??? I love the idea of them moving our luggage for us!

Yes! I would rather be at POR than POP. Nicer setting and close to DTD if you want to eat and shop at night before the switch!

Yes, definitely go for POR, and be sure to take the boat to DTD!
