My DH and I are having a VR for our 25th anniversary on Feb. 7 2012...couple weeks from now! We have planned it at the Wedding Pavilion (which is now by the construction) with the reception to be held at the Grand Floridian on Commander's Terrace. I had seen the other thread regarding the receptions being moved from the Commander's Terrace inside due to the construction. I sent my wedding coordinator a quick email with my final guest count and asked about the reception being moved inside. I got a very nice email back which did not address my question about the reception being moved at all but did say that my on site coordinator for the day of the event had been changed to Danny Rogerson and he would be happy to answer any questions on Monday during a phone conversation. Ok....freaking out just a little. I realize it's just a VR and not a "real" wedding but I did want to make sure that everything was nice! Does anyone have any experience with Danny? My previous wedding coordinator assured me that he has years of experience and will make sure everything is just right....I'd just like to hear from anyone else who may have had a last minute change or has had Danny as their coordinator.

Thanks,

Melody:confused3

sorry no experience or wisdom here. But i did want to pipe in and say CONGRATULATIONS!! 25 years of marriage is something special. Of course you would want everything to go nice. Best of luck. I strongly believe things happen for a reason. Hope this is the case for you. Enjoy!!

Thanks for the well wishes! I'm sure it will all work out ok....just was stressing a bit over the last minute changes.

Just wanted to say congrats on you Vow Renewal. DH and I hit 25 in a year and a half and I might have to look in to this. Would love to hear how yours goes.

On a side note, my mom's family is from Warren and I have a lot of relatives up by you.

i don’t know danny either but i just wanted to say your event is indeed “real” and costs just the same and deserves the same attention as if it were your wedding itself! disney does seem to have lots of passing around with these events and some kind of wait till the last minute policy with all these changes. that said, having been through the process, i am sure that everything will be wonderful - even if some changes do occur - although i know that doesn’t help now or make you feel more at ease. it really is a well oiled machine if you will! i hope your locations work out - and we had our planner changed on us a month before our wedding AND, on the day of, actually i hardly saw her! NOT because she wasn’t there or wasn’t doing what she should be, but because there were other team members we’d never met or heard of facilitating everything and they were indeed great!

hang in there - it’s wild before an event like this! and congrats!

Disneybuckeye...I would be happy to give you details on how ours goes! I'm planning on doing a TR when we get back! Sambycat...thanks for your comments...actually made me feel a whole lot better!

i’m so glad - the whole thing is just stressful but in the end i am confident all will turn out well - hang in there and post lots of pics!!!!:goodvibes

and on a side note, do give feedback when its all done. you will get some kind of survey and i think its good to give appropriate and constructive criticism where its due - it’ll help the powers that be continue to improve!

We had our VR on Feb. 7th and couldn't have had a more perfect day! Everything was magical. The weather was a bit overcast and there was a threat of rain so we ended up having to move the cake cutting inside after all. Danny, our wedding coordinator was wonderful and he arranged for us to have the cake cutting at Citrico's in the Grand Floridian. It was a beautiful room, elegant and with lots of windows. Honestly I didn't even notice the construction or mind the changes. Everything was done beautifully and I couldn't have asked for anything more!

I will be posting a trip review and more details of our experience but just wanted to update everyone and to assure those who are concerned about the construction and locations that everything will work out fine!

Congratulations!
We also celebrated 25 years this year with a vow renewal onboard the Magic in January.

Please share pictures!!!

Glad everything went well. Can't wait to see the pictures. Welcome back you honeymooner.
