If you are invited to a birthday party an hour before it happens, is it a real invite? I'm very close to the birthday girl (her 40th) but these are her friends, not mine. I always get the feeling they are only being nice to me because of her. Her birthday is today and one of her friends stopped by and invited me as I was making her a cheesecake, she said she had tried to get a hold of me, but it was hard to do without the birthday girl knowing. :confused3

Nope, not a real invite, more of a "come along." I'd find myself busy and then celebrate separately with your friend.

If you want to go then I say go. She made the effort to come and find you. I know that if one of my friends had to get in touch with my friend from school(another mom) they would have to try to get my dh to help so that would be like a mission impossible:lmao:
