Hello,
I am glad that I am not the only one feeling nervous we go in 12 days. I have packed my suitcases at least 100 times in dreams and have been waking at odd hours of the morning wondering about things.

I just have to say to myself You have armed yourself with knowledge thanks to the wonderful disers so you will have a great time!!

I hope that your trip goes really well!!

take care and don't worry:hug:

It may be easier said than done but.........

Have Fun, enjoy yourself and don't worry it will be great!

Some things will work out as planned, others will take a different course and may even lead to a good outcome you never expected.

I can vouch for the unexpected things that make your trip better. When we went last September, we were trying to get from Epcot to MK for Cinderella's Royal Table. We left as much time as was recommended, but the monorail took FOREVER because they were adding trains and then testing the brakes. We almost missed our reservation and were one of the last families seated for that meal... Since we were seated last, Cinderella had already greeted everyone and was just standing around. My 1 1/2 year old daughter LOVES Cinderella, so I let her off my lap and she went over by where Cinderella was. Cinderella came out from behind her ropes, knelt down, and talked to my daughter for several minutes. My daughter was wearing her Cinderella dress and she showed Cinderella her bracelets and glass slipper necklace that says "Hello, I'm Cinderella". It was my favorite moment of the whole trip....

We were scheduled to have the Photopass photoshoot at Grand Floridian. My daughter was all dressed in her Cinderella outfit and her diaper leaked... the stroller and her dress were SOAKED and our photoshoot was in 15 minutes. The Photopass photographer's schedule was light and we could postpone our photoshoot for a half hour. I was trying to borrow a blow dryer from housekeeping to dry her dress in the bathroom and a manager of the hotel said the laundry service could work on it. It occurred to me that there were guest laundry facilities at the hotel and if I could rinse the dress and put it in the dryer, we would be okay. The manager exchanged my $5 bill for quarters and pointed me in the direction of the nearest laundry room. We put her dress and stroller parts in the dryer (LOVE that the Maclaren Techno stroller seat and straps are removable and washable). When we went out to wait in the little lobby, we found a hotel maid sitting at a table. They were re-grouting the tiles and it was her job to keep people from walking on that area, so she was folding towel animals while she sat. She invited us to sit down and taught us how to make the towel duck and the towel elephant. She let us decorate them with all of her supplies (she had tons of eyes, flowers, stickers, etc) and she said we could keep them. We didn't know you were allowed to take home your towel animals (we had gotten some at Pop Century, but we would have reluctantly left them because we thought it was stealing the linens to take them home). When we were done drying her dress and stroller cover, we were able to get the photos taken. BTW, we did tip the housekeeper for being kind enough to teach us how to make the animals....

So our misadventures ended up giving us Cinderella's undivided attention for a while and a lesson in towel animals.... Disney magic was working for us :-)

You'll be fine-- I have been to WDW on a family trip 2 times and am going in April again. Both of times I went there completely unprepared.. no planning, was not even AWARE of 1/3 of the things you can do in the parks, not to mention the rest of the property. I didn't realise what I was getting into and didnt even know to plan. We go to amusement parks all the time and other then making our reservations, never really put much thought or effort into, so I just assumed a trip to WDW was the same. Looking back, we missed a lot of stuff just from lack of knowledge but we had a fantastic time both trips. Both times we came home & said.. wow, that was the best vacation ever!

With that said, our next trip is in 44 days and I am a lot better prepared. I have been reading every WDW book I can get my hands on, spent HOURS on this and other Boards, reading, questioning, posting, and other then some ADR's and knowing which parks we "plan" to do each day, that's pretty much it. I spent some time with each DS going through the rides, shows, etc and let each of them pick 10 rides/shows (total combined from all parks) that they just HAVE to do. -- lucky for us most of their choices overlapped, so we have a list of 22 things we HAVE to for the boys, and DH & I total. and we have 8 days to do them in. Hopefully, we are able to do all 22 and then tons more, but if not, we'll still have time together as a family making memories.

Having done Dinsney w/o plans before and now going there with "tenative" plans, I'm anxious to see the difference in the vacations. I understand that these trips are expensive for most of the people who take them, and most of us are not fortunate enough to go multiple times a year or even once a year as a result, we all want the trip to be "Perfect". Just don't forget that a perfect trip will still have snags...I will say that I am not going to be so caught up in the plans that I miss the moments.

You are well prepared. Now is the time to RELAX and ENJOY the results of your prep work.

Just remember that no matter what you don't know or haven't planned, you're still way ahead of about 99% of the people there. That, and, c'mon, it's DISNEY WORLD... how can you possibly NOT have fun?
