My poor son broke his arm at day care today. Took him to the emergency room and he had a greenstick fracture of the right radius. Hopefully, he will be okay by the time we head to Montana in 6 weeks. But for now, no swimming for a while (and the pool opens this weekend).

He actually has the last 1/2 day tomorrow, but they took everything home today. So, I'll take him by the school for a short visit to say bye to his friends and then back home. Maybe a trip to McDonalds for a Happy Meal with the new Neopets inside.

What a bummer. Good things kids heal and bounce back so quickly, Deb. My best for him, you guys too.

wasnt he able to get a waterproof/swimming cast? was it cos of the actual break?

How disappointing at the beginning of the summer vacation like this.
Will it be a challenge to come up with alternative activities for him since he can't swim? (some communities have more for children to do than others is what I mean.)

Poor kid! But on the bright side, the cast should be off for his trip!

I can relate in a way. My son broke his foot 2 weeks into marching band season and had to sit it out a few years ago.

SO sorry. hope he heals in time for your big trip

Poor kid, that's a bummer. Hope he isn't in too much pain. We are heading out to Montana in about 6 weeks, too. Where are you going?
