Last day at the parks.. how late can we leave to safely get 1800 flight at MCO?

..travelling back to UK with Virgin, and will have checked luggage in at DTD that morning...not having driven from Universal Orlando to MCO before, how long is the journey, assuming traffic, and how late would you leave it?

Do you plan on being at the airport two hours in advance for the flight? The ride itself should only take about 30 minutes or so, but I would give yourself an extra half hour, so your best bet is to be on the road at like 1500.
