Does anyone know of a planning forum for Las Vegas - going to spend our 25th Wedding Anniversary there and need a similar site like this one but dedicated to Las Vegas.

Thanks

i used a2zlasvegas when we went.not sure if it has a forum or not,but it has alot of good information on there & lots of reviews, for hotels, shows, buffets etc.i loved las vegas & can't wait to go back.:)
tracy

Another user of openvegas here. Friendly forums and lots of useful info.

Next question:

What do people do in Vegas - I view it as a big gambling place and quite enjoy playing poker, however Vicki (my wife) and our friends who spookily share the same wedding day and date i.e. it will be their 25th anniversary on the same day are not gamblers or poker players and I have no clue as to their expectations of the place and I doubt if I will be able to do any poker playing whilst there as I will be seen as being unsociable to the rest of the party.

So if you have time can you give me a clue as to what would be on your itinerary of things to do whilst there.

Thanks

I have never been but want to go, there are loads of things to do like go to one of the many shows, shopping, site seeing and eating in the many restaurants for example. Also you could go out to the Grand Canyon which isn't far from Vegas.

We’re not gamblers either and have never found that it caused us any problems. There is so much else going on in Vegas that we have never felt it held us back.

Even though you’re not gamblers the casinos and more importantly the hotels they are in, deserve a look around.

We’ve only recently returned from Vegas. This trip we did a Tour of the Grand Canyon. GC is approximately 250 mile round trip, so hiring a car is a must if you intend to visit other places. Death Valley National Park is another must do and can be visited by car or plane. There is also the Adventure dome in Circus, Circus which has lots of rides and a mega rollercoaster. The Fountains at the Bellagio Hotel are also a must do.

Las Vegas also has lots of Museums and Galleries to spend your time in. So as well as these, fantastic places to eat in and the sites there is a lot to keep you amused.

Las Vegas is one of our favourite places to visit. Any other questions, please do not hesitate to ask or pm me.

I took a peek at some of the sites and it appears that for someone like me who doesnt like shows, dislikes shopping and doesnt drink and not allowed to play poker then Vegas is not have great appeal whereas my lovely wife thoroughly loves the shows and shopping and can drink like a fish then the place is heaven.

I dont mind doing the shops and shows and will arrange for some trips. I dont begrudge going to Vegas for our 25th - after all she has had to put with me for all those years.

lol have to be a fan but the star trek experience is great !

I booked a surprise trip for my DH's 30th birthday...we are not gamblers at all but always wanted to visit Vegas. We were there for 5 nights and didn't gamble at all (other than one hour on the slot machines to get rid of our change on the last day).

We saw 2 shows, Blue Man Group & 'O' - I highly recommend both of them! I booked a Helicopter trip to the Grand Canyon, we landed in the canyon and had a champagne lunch (this was AMAZING, he will certainly never forget where he was on his 30th Birthday!)
As mentioned previously the entertainment arcade at Circus, Circus is great. We spent a lot of time checking out all the theme's in the hotels on the strip....things like the lion enclosure at MGM, fountains at Bellagio, the Mirage has a big tiger exhibit and also lots of different animals but you have to pay a small fee to go through that section (was worth it though), go on a gondola through the Venetian, go up the Stratosphere tower - the view is incredible....there is so much to do.

Typing this is making me want to go back and sooner rather than later.....:rolleyes1
