What hotel is your reservation for?

Prices vary but we typically stay at one of the following: Harrah's (the cheapest), Flamingo, or Rio. All are nice but not as fancy as say The Wynn, The Venetian or Bellagio.

I'm going with some girlfriends next month; we're saying @ the Mirage- decent rate; their facebook site just listed a 20% off code for dates now thru next August.

Good Luck!! :)

DH and I stayed at Harrah's. We liked it just fine. The room was nice, and they have Toby Keith's I Love This Bar so we spent some time there too. :) It was within walking distance of Margaritaville (where DH wanted to have his birthday dinner) and other hotels so we did a lot of walking around and looking. And when we wanted to check out a hotel that was too far for walking we took the monorail which is located behind the hotels.

I got a code today for Venetian at $119/night. I'm sure there are plenty of lesser priced rooms on the Strip available at decent enough hotels. I've been gettng quite a few email offers from various hotels there so it appears that they are looking for business which means rates should be decent. I've stayed at more than 90% of the Strip hotels and although some are not to my taste, none of them were "awful".

Where is your original reservation? I've learned that to not invest a whole lot into online reviews, especially Trip Advisor. I've stayed at the MGM Grand and the Sahara, with a lot of time spent with my SIL who was staying at the Flamingo. The Flamingo is where it's at if you want to go cheaply, IMO. Honestly, there are so many codes and discounts out right now that you can get deals anywhere on the strip.

Have res with Flamingo now. Good rate, just found out main pool is closed and have been reading reviews on trip advisor.. We have stayed at Flamingo several times with no problems. Just have been reading a lot of bad reviews on T A. Going to my first JIMMY BUFFET concert so not to worried about hotel...

I would suggest the Mirage. I always stay there with my mom. We usually get a really good rate, and they have a very nice pool area. I also love the central location.

I'll be there in 2 weeks, too!

Caesar's Palace is the best!! Really, you want to stick with a Harrah's property so you don't have to pay the silly resort fees (Caesar's, Rio, Harrah's, Bally's, Paris, Flamingo, and Imperial Palace). There's even a shuttle that loops between Harrah's and Rio and Bally's and Rio-- perfect for getting from the strip to the best buffet in Vegas (Rio's Carnival World Buffet!)
If you upgrade to a GO room at Flamingo, you'll be fine. However, if a pool is important to you-- DEFINITELY switch to Caesar's. Most gorgeous pool I've ever seen in my life! Caesar's has the best location, too!

Most pools close in October in Vegas. I go alot and have come to enjoy New York New York. Just a fun place to be with alot of choices if you choose not to go out on the strip one night. I believe they currently have an online special for around $42.00 a night.

We stayed at the Jockey Club, Planet Hollywood Tower and the Venetian our last trip they were all great. There are great Luxor and Excalibur rates usually. If you want everything all in your hotel Ny Ny Seems nice and Paris

If we ever go to Las Vegas again, I want to stay at the Paris; it's a nice hotel and the best part is that it's centrally located. We've stayed at the Luxor and Rio in the past. The Luxor was back in 2000 and I've heard that it's really gone down hill since then, and the Rio was last year... it wasn't a BAD hotel, it was just inconvenient because it's off the strip.

I agree with this!

Harrah's is right next door to Flamingo and is a "sister" property. Don't bother to upgrade to a Harrah's deluxe room if you stay there - there is little difference between the two types of rooms. I have reservations for Flamingo in January and we have stayed there several times, they are fine. Harrah's should be a little cheaper - check their website at totalrewards.com for the best rates.

The GO rooms are really nice at Flamingo if you want to upgrade.

ETA - I believe that most pools will be closed now for the season...

I've stayed at NY,NY, Excalibur, and Luxor. I really enjoyed NY,NY and the price was decent.

Have you checked Planet Hollywood (recently revamped) or the Monte Carlo???

Best pool is Mandalay Bay. It gets voted best pool every year. The rooms are okay, not great but if pool is important to you, that's where you want to stay (if it's still open when you go). Paris has the worst pool.

As stated in my previous post, I've stayed at almost every hotel on the strip (I go to Las Vegas 5-6 times per year) and my favorite inexpensive hotels are either MGM or Mirage. My least favorites are NY NY and Paris.
