Is it worth it ? Take the whole day off...

Does the sea lion encounter, need swimming skills ? Age restrictions ?

How do they incorporate the Rhythm of the night with this ? A bit confusing there..any past cruiser experiences ?

Would love to hear anything and everything about Las Caletas..sounds like a good alternative to Castaway cay, which kids would dearly miss.

we did las caletas rythmn of the nights but on holland america, it was awesome, Not for kids, it was so romantic, absolutley awesome!!!! u take a boat out to las caletas, then go to a luau/ ritual like show, then go to ur table for dinner, whole place is lit by candles only, all the tables are places on beach or little cliffs over looking beach, absolutley awesome!!!!

I've been to Las Caletas three times, and love it. I'd go again and again.
I haven't done the Rhythms....but I've done the resort dive they offer and the sea lion encounter. You absolutely have to swim to do the sea lion. They also limit it to about 6-8 people, so if you want to do it, you need to sign up right away, as soon as you get on the tour boat.

We did the Las Caletas excursion with my 4 and 6 yo daughters in March. It was a long boat ride over, but a nice view of the coast. The crew was entertaining and provided drinks. The food was very good and ready when we arrived. We played on the beach for the majority of the time and our girls had a great time in the sand and water. We also took the short 'nature walk', it wasn't much, but again an entertaining host made it fun. We saw iguanas, but missed the monkeys. Overall, it was a good experience. But, for me, I wouldn't need to do it more than once.

Is there a minimum age for sea lion encounter?

I'm not 100% sure what the minimum age is, but you have to swim out to a platform, and be able to swim and tread water out there for almost an hour. They supply life jackets.
I'd almost have to guess that it wouldn't be suitable for a child under 6, maybe even 8.
