Largest 2BR HA Villas?

We are considering booking AKV for our trip next year... Does anyone know which HA villas provide most space and accessibility to get around with wheelchair in room. Thanks.

If you want to be at Animal Kingdom DVC, you want Kidani Village. That was built to be DVC. The other area, Jambo House, was originally delux resort rooms that were renovated to become DVC. They are nice, but the Kidani ones are more open.

This is video of a non-accessible Kidani Village 2 bedroom. There are 3 bathrooms and, if you can step over a small lip, the non-roll in shower would still be usable to you.

Thanks for the videos... We stayed in a 2br last year at Kidani but they didnt put us in a HA room like requested.. Rooms seem bigger at Kidani but I like the idea of having everything downstairs like the foodcourt at Jambo... the 3rd bathroom is such a plus too.

I don't stay DVC so maybe the reservation process is different... but you should be able to BOOK an HA room, not simply request it. A "request" noted on a regular reservation may easily be passed over because all HA rooms are a bookable category.

the reservation process is the same. We are DVC members and have booked a handicapped accessible room with roll in shower for about the past 15 years for all our trips.

During those times, once we did not get a HA for the first night because they were all booked and then one had an issue that needed extra cleaning (including a carpet shampoo). So, it was a room problem, not a booking problem.
I also know of situations where someone was not aware there are handicapped rooms with roll in showers and ones without - they ended up with one without.

Thanks Sue, so it is the same process -- an HA room should be reserved from the start, not just noted on the reservation as a request. I can see the situations you described occurring, frustrating as that must be. Hope it doesn't happen often!

A room location (including potentially Jambo vs Kidani, I am not sure how the DVC booking process works for that) is a *request.* But a HA room is a *requirement.* For example, when I stayed at CSR, I booked a HA room with a roll-in shower. That was guaranteed. I requested to stay in one of the Casita buildings - that was a request and did not have to be honored. I was lucky and did get the building I wanted, but that was not promised.

we've been there twice and had family stay there once. I'm almost positive that Kidani was a booked category.
