Large rental homes closer to Orlando?

Because I needed more options to consider for our trip next year, we are now also looking at going with another family and renting a larger property. The various resort communities around Kissimmee look great, but my husband and one of the other guests would be commuting to the Orange County Convention Center for quite a bit of our stay, and dealing with spring break traffic, so we'd rather not be that far outside of Orlando.

I know there are condo communities that would put us closer to the convention center, and of course many hotels, but are there any resort communities with larger homes (like Windsor Hills, etc.) on that side of Disney?

The Four Corners/Clermont/High Grove areas would be good because they could take the 192 to the 429 into the Downtown Orlando area rather than use I4. During this past week, commutes from Davenport to Disney property were taking over twice as long...a usual 30 minute commute from Davenport to AK using I4 was taking 70 minutes.

Ok, thanks all. We will stick to our original plan of separate accommodations, and for our family at least stay near the parks or on property for the first leg of the trip and then move closer to the convention for the second half. Maybe we'll do some sea world, universal, beach, space center, etc. During that second leg. In some ways taking these areas out of consideration simplifies my decision making!
