How are large parties seated at Sci Fi Diner? I've never been there, and it appears that you aren't facing each other in the cars. Thanks!

Depends on how many you are. We were once a party of 10 and were split into two different cars.

In cars you are two per seat, most cars have 3 seats, some have 2. It is unusual seating.

They do have tables with a car front/back - kind of like book ends the largest ones seat 8. If tables flip up any suppose they could squeeze in a couple more.

With a party of 10 we were in two cars side by side, with two in each row. I personally don't think this is a good choice for large party. Each group of two is very isolated.

If you are a large party and want to have a social meal, Sci-Fi is a terrible choice due to the seating.

If you are a large party with multiple children to monitor, Sci-Fi is an awkward choice you may deem terrible after the fact.

If you are a large party who is sick of each other, with limited small children, it can be fun because you have an excuse not to talk to everyone (or anyone!).

If you want to sit in the cars, large parties of more than 6 are usually seated in separate cars. and you are correct, guests do not face each other in the "cars," they face the movie screen.

If you want a more traditional table-like setup, there are some limited table seats but I don't know if they are reserved for disabled guests or for walkups like the picnic tables in the back.

1) Nope, can't face each other in the normal cars, but at the tables, yes.
2) A group of ten will have to be split into AT LEAST two tables/cars, if not more.
3) If facing each other is that important, try another eatery.
. . . we find with groups of at least eight, separate tables are best
. . . the eateries are usually too noisy to talk to each other
. . . especially for the people on the ends of the table
. . . it is like eating with Canadians all night, hearing, "Eh?", "Eh"?"

Thanks for all of the good info. Much of it describes our group so this helps!
