Large Group PS?

Just found out that 2 families will be joining us at WDW in June - We will be planning some things together and some things seperate - I know we will try to make a couple PS's for all of us to eat together a couple times - there will be 13 total - Do I still call the regular Dining line for PS's or do I need to call a different # for a large group? How does this effect our chances at trying for PSB or CRT? Any special advice for a bigger group trying for a character Bfast?

Hi there!

I made a reservation for a large group for the character breakfast at 1900 Park Faire for my farewell breakfast for our guests. I just called the main number - 407-wdw-dine. I think for bigger groups - more like 20 people - they want you to call with group reservations. I would just make sure you call exactly 90 days out first thing in the morning. Also if you have 13 and you're not sure if one or two will make it, still make the reservation for 13 - it's better to overestimate and call back and say there's only 12, then having to call back and add on.

I wasn't sure what qualified as a large group. They want to try for CRT though I warned them that it will be hard to get esp for a large group. We're not too sure if we will each try for our own PS or try to book a PS for 13 - we have until March to decide. If we get it great if not we'll still have fun I am letting them know about PSB too. Wish us luck maybe we can get one or the other.

I'll share our expericence with CRT. Two years ago, we had 11 people and got a reservation with no problem. This year we had 15- more difficult. It really depends on the CM who answers the phone. We had 6 - yes 6- people calling and 5/6 got transferred to group dining the first day we tried and didn't get a reservation. By the time they transfer you and you are on hold- again!- it is too late. I was the lucky one whose CM didn't transfer to group dining and I got a reservation. However, this wasn't our preferred date, so I told her we would be trying again. She suggested we just try for two different reservations. She said 12 people and over would be transferred. We ended up witih two reservations for 11 people for the date we wanted. We had everyone ask for 11 people in case only one person got in- would be a shame if one of the ones asking for only 4 was the only person to be successful. We called back and lessened one 11 to 4 and ended up with a ps for 11 and 4. The smaller number kinda messed them up as the ps we tried to change was a one big table, but we worked it out! Good luck! If you decide to ask for 13, say party of 13 or as many as we can get, please DO NOT TRANSFER ME TO GROUP DINING!!!

Sorry I forgot, we also had to be the first or last seating of our meal at Crystal Palace and Garden Grill. For example, lunch, we had to be in the first seating of lunch or the last- not in-between. Just be sure to call 90 days ahead so you can be sure to get the meals you want for everyone.

Thanks so much for the advice Tink2! It really helps to plan how to make the PS after hearing from someone who has had a similar experience - Wish us luck - I'll be happy with either CRT or PSB.
