Large group housing?

We are getting 2/2beroom and a studio for our trip. What are the chances we can get them together if we request when booking at our home SSR?

Nobody knows. Consider yourself lucky if you're able to get them all in the same building.

Keep in mind that DVC is very flexible. It's not like everybody is checking in on a Friday, and everybody else is checking out that same Friday, as you'll find with fixed week timeshares.

It will depend a lot on the day you're getting there and how many check-outs are being done. The only villas available will be those with people checking out the same day you're arriving.

Not that many use the 2-B/R unit, so a lot of them are being used as a 1-B/R and Studio by separate parties. To get it back to a 2-B/R, both parties would need to be checking out on the same day.

Often on these boards we don't think that much about room assignments, but the logistics of it is really quite complex when you think about it.

All you can really do is put in the requests and hope for the best. Keep in mind requests are prioritized top to bottom, so you'll have to balance that request with your other requests such as non-smoking/smoking, ground floor, DD view, etc.

Make whatever is MOST important to you your top level request.

Bill, that is exactly why we usually request a dedicated 2 bedroom. We have noticed we get in sooner with the dedicateds.

Don't give up hope. Last Oct. we had 3 2-bedroom units booked at BWV for a week. We got them all together. It CANNOT be guaranteed, but I'm sure that the front desk will try. Good luck!

Have you looked into the possibility of getting a grand villa? You don't say how large your party is, but getting 2 two-bedroom units and a studio takes alot of points. A grand villa may take less points, and they sure are nice! Just a thought...

For my sister-in-law's wedding last June we needed 5 studios and a Grand Villa at OKW. They had no problem at all getting us these in the same building (well, one of the studios was in the next building, but it was barely 10-feet from the building everyone else was in).

Let them know what you need and make sure all the reservation numbers are linked together. They'll do their best. Even if you aren't in the same building, I'm sure they'll be able to get you very close together!

I just got back from OKW with two studios where the ressies were linked and had no problem getting in the same building. They will certainly do it if they can!
