Does anyone know of the likelihood of getting an ADR for Thanksgiving for a large group at Liberty Tree tavern? I've never eaten there and it seems to be recommended for Thanksgiving. Is it small inside? Would we be seated together? Is it best to try for earlier in the day or later? THanks.

We really enjoyed the LLT, but it will be busy for Thanksgiving dinner. You didn't say how large your group was...but we have dined with a party of 8 before and didn't have a problem. Call as soon as you can (180 days before arrival) and see what happens. :goodvibes

Thanks minnierocks! I just have to say that I so enjoyed reading about your magical trip last year! How amazing!

Our group for Tksgiving is large - 10 adults, 6 kids, and 2 babies (2 yrs and almost 3 yrs). Total of 18.

Would they have a couple of big tables we could use or would we be split into tinier groups? Kind of defeats the purpose of eating at a family-style dinner for such an important meal if we are all split up! LOL.

Are there any other places for Thanksgiving that might work as well if not better that LTT? I really would like to go there as I think it will feel the most like a home-cooked turkey dinner! Thanks.

We love Liberty Tree Tavern, but it is NOT good for large groups. We have eaten there the last 4 trips in a row and the food is great but they are never on time for ADR's and they cannot get big groups right. We had 14 on our trip in 2005 and we were not seated til almost an hour and a half after our ADR's and then we took 3 separate tables just to eat!

It is almost impossible to get reservations there even at 180 days out, because other peoples 180 days out beat yours, you know what I mean? All the restaurants serve the same Thanksgiving fare that night anyways. We went to Mom's 50's Prime Time Cafe this past Thanksgiving and we usually love this restaurant. Not a good choice for Thanksgiving, though. JMO.

Good luck. I know with that many friends and family, wherever you go you will have a great time.

Thanks...I am so glad that you enjoyed reading about our trip! It was amazing! :goodvibes

That is a large group...how exciting to be spending the holidays at WDW! If you are set on traditional fare at LLT, then it won't hurt to try, but have at least two alternative plans when calling...

What are your plans for the day? Are you planning on spending all day at MK, or do you have hopper passes? Maybe you could look at spending the morning at MK, going to one of the resort restaurants for lunch and then hopping to another park?

I see there are little ones in your group, so you may want to break in the middle of the day. The MK will be very crowded on Thanksgiving, if you leave...you may not be able to get back in because it is at capacity. I am not trying to make your decision more difficult, but am trying to help you think about all the angles...

We are going to MGM that day and having lunch at the H&V...They had a great Thanksgiving spread when we were there in 2005, but there are many options. Here is a good link to see the options...

Anyone else have some suggestions for a group that large? :goodvibes
